I'm assuming it's the pedal sensor buttons that are revealed when you press in the pedal. That's how you do a burnout in our cars too, by holding the brake button.

Understood... just having a little fun. Good video as it shows that the clutch and brake switch can cause this issue.

Intermittant switches, either on the clutch/brake pedals OR in the steering wheel, make more sense than other failures. Unless the clock spring has a few contacts that are iffy.

Anyone have a fast-shipping solution for OEM infiniti parts? I need front shock boots (the bellows with the bump stop) as my bump stops are disintegrated. Yay broken parts found on disassembly. Car is on stands and as it is. I'm ubering to work this week.

Local Nissan dealer wants $75 each for the 370 version and $65 each for the G37 version and can't get either this week. PN 54050-JK51A for 370. 54050-JK01A for the G. This is going on Konis with 370Z Nismo springs so I'm assuming the 370 version will fit too.

Unless the generic-ish KYB 92771-05043484 will fit - anyone know?

I used autoanything for parts before, they had it to me the next day. RockAuto can also be pretty fast. But for stuff where my daily is down... I usually just bite the bullet and go to the dealer parts counter.

The Infiniti dealer called me back and had the price more in line with what I'm seeing online (for OEM parts). Won't have 'till Wednesday though

No one else local has anything at all, and delivery seems to be between next week and the week after. I'll check autoanything.

Putting the car back together - whats the torque for the lower control arm steel bracket (the one that is on the nut-side of the shock mount bolt/sway bar link?

It doesnt show as removable in the FSM.

120ft lbs is what I used when I installed my coilovers.

Edit: Reading comprehension fail. I couldn’t find the specs for those 3 bolts either so I just tightened them to what I felt was good.

Yeah, the FSM shows 120 for the strut mount/sway bar link. I'm talking about the three 14mm bolts that hold the steel plate on to the aluminum control arm.

Yeah, I finally went with 40 ft-lbs... about what I'd expect for a bolt that size. I've got a clunk when driving, but I think it is either the strut tops or one of the swaybar links I *maybe* forgot to tighten. After losing almost 7 pounds from sweating, the wrapping-up portion of the day is a little fuzzy.

If it's a strut top, I need to make a tool. I have an offset 19mm I made for konis/tokiko illuminas/KYB AGXs on the RXs... figures this one is 17mm. No parts stores have anything useful, so I'm back to finding out if my ancient mig welder still works LOL.

edited: here it is:

This was a 10-minute use-once tool I built... almost 20 years ago LOL. Shame it's 19mm and not the 17mm I need for the Koni's.

What's up guys!! I haven't posted in a while, but have been lurking... I have done some more modding to my '12 G37X and wanted to share the recent upgrade.

I was experiencing some trans issues - more specifically, the torque converter....I ended up having the car sent to Level 10. After speaking with Level 10, they ran a complete diagnostic test on the TC and Trans...it was deemed that the trans was on it's way so it was only a matter of time. I ended up getting the complete Level 10 transmission done - "Bulletproof 7spd transmission upgrade". I must admit, the car drives flawlessly and no more shifting issues. I can truly feel the power throughout the shifts and the car pulls. I have hi-flow cats on order, so it'll be interesting to see what my upcoming retune will yield.

So while messing around looking for vented hoods I came across pictures of this lip on the Autokits demo car. These do a much better job of showing the lip fitted to the car, as a bonus it’s also a white G.

is there a way to "re tighten" the emergency brake pedal....mines a little loose and it wiggles a little bit and causes the system to beep annoyingly, implying the brake is on
