There are other companies making similar ones now that have good light output, better build quality, and just look better overall. They also give options to carry over out bi-xenon high/low beams. Check out alpharexusa. They're very pretty, although, only coupe for now.

Was approached by a guy in a well taken care of 2015 C class in a parking lot yesterday. He complimented the hell out of my car and we just chatted for a good 30 minutes. Nice to know my almost 10 year old car still turns necks 😊 good feeling lol.

Last Fall, I tried out a 16 oz bottle of "Seal & Squeal", from Lithium Products. And I really, really liked it. So this Spring, I bought another bottle, along with their "Gloss Sauce".

Kind of expensive at $39 each for 16 ounces, but like I said... really, really liked it.

I just picked up chemical guys hydroslick ceramic coating and Meguire's ceramic pro spray. Can't wait to get to the cottage, polish the car and see how these products perform.

I bet it will look really good with the ceramic coating. Auto Armor went ceramic last year so I tried it out about a year ago. I was looking at my car in the garage yesterday. I don't know if the pearl white paint is just really good quality or if the ceramic coating really helps the appearance, but my 7 year old car still looks like it has brand new show car paint on it. The paint just popped off of the fenders, doors, and hood. I was amazed. The really crazy part is that I used a power washer to hose off the salt about two weeks ago, but I have not actually washed the car in well over a month.

Hey folks! What's been happening in the world of the G? I started winding down my old job in February and started a new job March 1 so I've not had a lot of internet time. At least new job lets me work from home...

Most recent G37 thing... drove 650 miles in the G and got my gas mileage up to 18.2. Also got a sport bumper lip off ebay, I'll put that clusterf*ck on my build page when I figure out where the pictures are.

At oil change time so its also time for the oil pressure adapter and sensor.

Looking forward to that ebay sport lip "cluster" review/pics. The OEM price is a little steep but the reviews on the ebay lip are fairly consistent in reference to "cluster"

So the fiberglass lip looked right but the dimensions were off - too far off to make it work without effectively rebuilding it. Pictures on my build thread (https://www.myg37.com/forums/build-t...unicorn-4.html)

The urethane lip is much better - literally snaps on to the oem sport bumper. I need to prep and paint it before looking at installing with hardware, but it looks pretty good as is. I'll post the ebay seller in my build thread. Was about $160 with tax. Unpainted, of course. No worries for me because I have a black car and the urethane is just dull black. I'll take pictures of the install once I get to that. Believe it or not, I'm still working 8+ hours even though I'm at home :roll:

I got lucky with the fiberglass lip seller - they took it back as defective once I shared pictures. Otherwise I'd be out $150 for that one too. I won't name names, but I will say check the listing and see what it is made of - I have no problems with fiberglass in general (I have a wonderful Border type II bumper for my FC3S) but this one I think the mold had been used up.

Also - in build thread - I found a hood! Yay LKQ notification app, I got in to the junkyard about 30 minutes after the car was posted. The hood has two small dings and a 6" long crumple at the front edge, but otoh, $50. Rest of the car was pretty much totalled, but it does have the wood interior trim if anyone wants me to pull and ship. This looks like a 2012 non-nav journey sedan; no performance/option parts. All lights are destroyed and most of the sheet metal. Engine looks OK but I won't pull one of those until they hit a 40% off sale.Interior is the cream/grey color.

So the spare hood will let me cut one for venting without messing up my only hood. And in the long and short runs, less cost than fiber or carbon and less fitment issues than the aftermarket hoods seem to have.

Getting the hood home in my G37 was a challenge, but enough padding and straps and you can do anything.

Junkyards seem to have the social distancing thing down, btw. Less concerns there than at the grocery store for example.

You only got 18.2 on the hwy?!? I get that in town with a heavy foot. I was on the hwy for about 2 hours each way and pretty excited that I topped 24 mpg (barely).

18.2 as indicated by the car's computer. Most of the time driving in Charleston I get 16ish. SC gas gives notable worse mileage than NC gas of the same octane (93). Additive package?
