I met the owner of that Bricklin today. And elderly guy (meaning older than me LOL), with a Corvette history. He bought the car two years ago, and it's been in that garage all the time. It has only 17k miles on it, and is completely functional. He's added about 1000 miles since buying it. So over the course of the last two years, I've simply never seen him pull out that car before. Not once. Go figure. Turns out he doesn't actually live here, he just rents that garage. Very odd situation for this neighborhood, having a garage sitting there without actually being part of the adjacent homes.

It's a 1975 SV-1, in Safety Orange. Being a '75, that means it has the Ford 351 Cleveland V8 3AT (with an underwhelming two-barrel carb), instead of the AMC 360 4MT from the first year. The acrylic body panels have held up really well for being a 42 year old car. And like I said, it's road-worthy.

So very cool. What a piece of living automotive history.

I still kind of feel like I'm on the short end of that straight line. However, if there were but one turn in that match-up, I'd slip right through on rails while he'd surely be in the ditch. The 04-06 GTO had notoriously sloppy steering, so without decent suspension mods... that's not the car to take auto-crossing.

At some point I should visit again with my car.
I don't know. It's a bit heavier than yours. You have some pretty effective go fast mods. You even have some pretty sticky tires. If they are both manuals, it might even come down to the driver. I believe it would be close either way. DEFINITELY would get him with any curves involved. I'm looking forward to getting into the modding of mine.

Rear camber kit?

Quick question. I'm hopefully picking up the Tein basis coilovers from a member tomorrow to install on my G37S. I'm planning on keeping her around 26-3/4" maybe 27". Definitely not any lower as it's my daily and I have small children. Anyway, will I need a rear camber kit at that height? I've tried looking at some of the build threads but most of you guys get lower with the exception of Rochester. I'd like to keep everything close to stock specs or if anyone cares to send me specs to shoot for to make her handle good I'd appreciate it. I do enjoy the twisties and go out of my way to take curvy roads when possible.

Rochester has the rear kit, and should be similar to what you're wanting height wise. I would get it, you'll have it paid for pretty quick in the tires you save

^^^
The rears have Tein Basis and SPC rear camber arms and toe bolts, sitting at 26 3/4" floor to fender, with a -2.2* and -2.3* camber. That's slightly more severe than I'd prefer, but it's what I have to do to get close to flush with the aggressive offset on these 10" wide Vossens.

I just last week replaced the rear tires: 14k miles out of a set of PSS. The tread was down to the bars, and the inner edge had some serious neg camber wear. Still rubber... but it was close.

Knightjs, you might be able to get to 27", but you might not. Mine are nearly at full extension.

Picked up Tein Basis from Brandon today. Great guy, very professional. Got to check out his good looking, lightly modded black G. Also broke down and purchased the SPC rear camber kit from another member tonight. Hopefully in a week or 2 my girl will be sitting a little lower and that huge front gap will be gone. Rear honestly doesn't look bad to me the way it is but will definitely set her level anyway.
Rochester, you recommend setting height before installing? If so, which way to run the nuts from the factory position?

Recommedation? Since you want a small drop, set them to max height, then back them down until you're where you want to be. But you know, I didn't do the install, my mechanic did. I just raised them a few times until I was satisfied.

Make sure to leave the recommended amount of thread in the shaft section of the coilovers tower AND make double sure that you lock down the lower ring nut when you get to the desired height or you'll get the annoying and damaging sound of the coilovers knocking. The process is pretty simple.

I just put Tein Basis on my G this weekend and have a knock in the back.... I was thinking it might be the shaft nut but I will check the sleeves tonight.

Re-adjust your pre-load. Make sure the top rubber gasket is installed on top of your rear struts. And, ensure the rubber gasket at the bottom of the spring is seated correctly.

What symptoms will the car manifest if your Sway bar links are bad? I noticed a slight shaking at 70-75 of the steering wheel. The links felt really loose when I installed my springs.

In my case it was bad clunking noises over bumps. It shouldn't cause any shaking in the wheel. Thats a balancing issue on your front wheels.

Continental Extreme Contact DWS 06, Michelin Pilot Sport A/S3 would be two of the best, here's a good link~

Tirerack is a great source for checking on rebates & closeouts too!

Thanks Brad, was eyeing the DWS 06 and the bridgestone pole position. Finally found the 18" sport wheels i wanted, buying two more rears to run 18x8.5 all around and 245/45 tire sizes.
