I'm exited to see the gears on-tap for 2017. You've been very patient
Yes. Yes I have. I've got the rebuild kit in hand, the whiteline bushings, and some gear oil. In jan, I drop another $600 on the ring and pinion. And planning for an April install.
I was going to do it 2 years ago, but after hearing so many aftermarket exhausts at the meet-up, that took priority. So then was going to do it this year, but money got in the way and instead I took baby steps with the STS and transmission mount. But 2017 is the year. And the year after... a road trip to MA for a tune.
Then again... **** happens in life, which is why plans are just plans, and mean nothing until they actually happen.
That sounds eerily similar to my moms 2015 Ford Focus
There isn't a single panel on that car which isn't scratched or outright dented in some way or another. And the passenger front door won't open anymore because of a massive dent, and we're told, "Oh, I don't know how that happened." OMG
We also moved her out of her appt into a senior living facility that's only a half mile walk from our house.
It ain't easy looking out for an elderly parent who seems to get more childlike every year, but it could be worse.
How is '2/16 - Tanabe exhaust' holding off on your exhaust until '18?
And I do like the Swift springs....then, screw it....coilovers!!! I went: Eibach springs...screw it...coilovers!! Hilarious. Though, at least you'll get a whole year out of your springs....

Well, I found a buyer for my Tanabe already, and I'll be shipping that out once I'm back in the states... So wait, I'll actually be getting a new exhaust sooner than I thought. Most likely the Ark GriP catback
And same for the springs, found a buyer on Camp Lejeune for them. I'll probably net like $150 for them which isn't bad.
Why did you decide to get rid of the springs and get coils? I have thought about it, but only because i have the usual problem of having the back too low compared to the front. Besides that, i love the way it handles.
And with the Tanabe, i love how it looks... it's just not loud enough. But i've decided i'll just remove the resonators most likely rather than get a full new system. Seems there isn't much performance gain anyways.
Finally got around to giving some attention to VIVID's lights. Too chromy.
Not all our Gs came kitted out with darker housings...
Figured as much. Guess we'll just wait and see what you do.
I wouldn't feel too left out about not having the Sport Package headlights. That might just be the most unnoticeable automotive option ever designed for a car. The only way you could tell them apart is to be side-by-side, and be told up front that something is different.
After not having snow for a good 3-4 years...it finally came down! First snow fall of the year here in Vancouver. I had the vehicle in snow mode and it handled well. My set up is brand new all seasons (put on last month by previous owner at time of sale) and the awd system with some weight in the trunk.
The vehicle reminded so much of my FX45, the way it behaved and rode thru the snow...except without as much clearance of course. It felt like I was driving a lowered fx45.
Figured as much. Guess we'll just wait and see what you do.
Typical stuff: painted housing in matte black, halos, clear lenses, etc. - everyone's probably seen it all before. I'm not tilling new earth here, ha. Just making myself happy.
