I'm not, I was comparing two different BT systems.

I'm using the USB to Lightening port for my iPhone in my G.

^^I see. That would require me getting an iphone or an android device supporting the lightning port. My moto x pure just has a standard micro usb. I'll stick with the 32GB flash drive for now . Next upgrade will be in about 18 months.

I finally retired my 5 (6?) year old gps and got a driveluxe 50 for my road trips. This has lots of bells and whistles but will not output directions over BT to the car's stereo. With this bt audio streaming from the phone, music gets muted/quiet when a call comes in. Same would happen when directions are spoken. Garmin says I can connect the pnd to my phone to use as an external speaker/mic. You'd think this day in age BT would be bidirectional in that regard.

For those of you that run radar detectors, what do you have and what do you like/not like about it?

My wife wants a radar detector. I bought a V1 back in 2002, but I don't know that my wife is going to be obsessive enough in memorizing the radar patterns in the areas she drives for it to be useful to her.

Suggestions?

9500Ix here. Caught one ticket with it few years back. Cop crested a hill and I was the first car in the pack. I was out of state too. Other than that I'm sure it's saved me from a few tickets. I normally don't run it around town as there's little opportunity to speed. It always comes with on long trips though.

It looks to be between the 9500 and V1. I like that the V1 has rear facing sensors, but there is a 9500 max 360 which is comparable.

Nothing is 100%. I got a ticket in a similar situation, but I've avoided countless ones.

Going to Disney last December, officer got the two cars I was traveling in a pack with at like 3 AM. Pulled right across the interstate to point them to the side and me through. V1 picked up the signal about a 1/2 mile ahead of the officer and I slowed down.

I had a valentine 1 for 4 years in my last car.

Now I have a 9500ix in the g37. Had it for about a year and a half now.

The 9500ix is a lot quieter with less false alerts compared to the V1.

The v1 is very annoying.

There's even a new version of the 9500ix that just released a few months ago.

I do miss the arrows on the V1 but i can live without it.

Discovered something interesting about lowered cars.

Had our cruise yesterday (~390 miles for me door to door). One of the guys that came had a lowered 370Z, ~2.5" at the lowest point. Lots of issues with the car bottoming out on the country roads and scraping exhaust and/or other parts, especially where the road dipped. I knew driveways and other such roadways would present a challenge but never thought actual roadways would be an issue. My sedan is fully stock except for eibach swaybars. I don't give much thought to mild dips in the roadway. Might slow down for excessive dips but otherwise it's a nonissue.

Goes to show, there must be a balance otherwise driveability will suffer. Can't have much fun on a curvy road if it's bottoming out.

My car has never bottomed out.

You have two issues: ridiculous drops, and mild drops (swift, Eibachs, etc) on stock dampers.

Same here. AFAIK

And my fronts are still OEM Sport Dampers, dropped on Swift Springs.

Rear CO's aren't an issue, because they're as high as they can go.

I should rephrase, that's 2.5" from the ground. I vaguely recall him saying coil overs were used. Even with those, I bet actual suspension travel is still less than stock, likely resulting in stiffer ride. I think the S sedan even in stock form is a pretty stiff ride and not the best for bumpy roads.
