I picked up a screw in the sidewall of my rear tire. Took it to two places who say it can't be repaired.

I had them measure the tread, 7/32. Will it be problematic to have one tire at 10/32 and one at 7/32?

I think tire rack can shave tires.....

Really? I would have thought otherwise, but apparently a few tenths more neg camber would make all the difference. Bring it in to -2.0 and see how it goes.

Honestly, I can't remember the last time I had 4 people in the car. I really didn't need to buy a sedan.

I found the damn squeaking. These "wonderful" Tein Basis are so stiff that it blew out the OE rear upper mounts. in less than 5K miles. I even removed the Eibach sways front and rear to see if it was that and it was not. I bought new rear mounts and replaced the Tein shocks with the OE. I'm telling you these Basis are good for a mild drop. IF you are going for such a mild drop than you may as well go with a mild set of lower springs. If you want to have adjustability then spend another 4 or 5 hundred bucks and buy something better. I may just go back to OE everything. Right now I am still on the Tein's up front and Tein rear springs on OE rear shocks. Oh and OE sways because I don't want to go thru the hassle of reinstalling them.

Would just do springs, if only there was an option that produced an even all-around drop...

My drop is more or less even on swifts. But I can only vouch for Awd sedan, they're a bit different for coupes and even rwd sedan.

Xpcgamer has been dumping on the Tein Basis for a while now. He's certainly got reason to be unhappy, but it's just one person"s experience. Go read through 4DRZ's thread on these CO's.

I haven't written much on mine, but I've had them for a good while now. I've been very happy. 26.25 FTG all around. Looks great. Rides at least as well as my Swifts + sport dampers. Only thing I'm not 100% happy with is driving over undulating roads. There's one in particular by my house that is the worst offender. The only car I've ever driven / ridden in that handled it satisfactorily was my buddy's Golf R with KW V3s. All others (stock, modified, or anywhere in between) bounce like crazy. Beyond that, they ride great. Good "1 movement" dampening over freeway bumps, good sporty ride without being overly harsh and quiet overall. Adjusting the rears is a bit if a PITA, because you really need to disconnect the spring perch to do it effectively, but otherwise I'm quite satisfied. (Especially at under 600 shipped, which is what I paid!)

Regarding the CBE vs HFC/TP discussion.

When I was making the decision on exhaust I based a lot of my decision on just doing CBE and not HFC on a few things.

1. Difficulty of HFC (DIY) install
2. Wanting to avoid any rasp
3. HFC did not make much more gains...based on dyno results posted by 1cleanG/FI

Here are those numbers from the group buy thread:

What's missing? HFC's and stock CBE so thats's still an unknown.

this is all FWIW and based on only one set of Dyno's, but i think the arguments from Gregor (and god) likely have some merit

Readjusted my game plan (in part due to more research into those Tein COs)

First round will be: sway bars & RJM clutch pedal.

Sounds like each of these would make a noticeable difference for everyday driving. COs maybe not so much, and not really looking for much of a drop.

Will also add "triton" switchback turn signals for aesthetics. And while I'm at it, finally try to improve fitment of my front grill

You don't have aftermarket swaybars on that 2013 6MT?

God yes, STownSaint. Sways are the mod you didn't know you can't live without. And truth be told, so is the RJM Clutch Pedal Assembly. If I were to reorganize priorities over the last few years, those two would be at the top. Particularly the RJM pedal. It took me almost three years to get around to that mod, and for a long time I had convinced myself that jsolo's return spring mod was totally fine, no need to replace the whole pedal.

Boy was I wrong about that. Get the RJM.
