IMO, standard brake calipers look better when they don't draw the eye to them.

So in that context... yes, paint them matte black. It will look clean and unobtrusive.

Mine are painted a very dark gunmetal with some epoxy type paint. Mainly so they dont get all rusty and nasty.

Hey guys so as some of you may know I am running Kinetix high flow cats and have been since 2012. I bought my sedan brand new in 2010 so this year was my first time having to smog it and I am happy to say that it passed with flying colors. So for those of you that have had any concerns about passing smog with high flow cats, know that Kinetix will pass smog here in California.

It certainly was especially with the visual inspection. Good thing AFE finally got their CARB sticker for the Takeda cai as well otherwise I would have been in trouble for that as well

Hey no problem, you're welcome because we do need that thing for the visual inspection.

How did you get the HFCs to pass visual? Or did they just not check?

Got a call from disco tire. My tires are in. Although they won't go on til mid april, I had to pay for 'em now to get in on the rebate.

Anyhow, looked at the date code.. 4915! Doesn't get any fresher than that.

Man it's been like 3 weeks that i started thinking about painting my calipers, and look what i ended up doing - a full brake job. Originally I only wanted to go for the look of the calipers and rotors not being rusty, i thought i'd clean them up and paint them with high temp paint, then started looking into rotors with the black coating and really wanted to get new rotors, then i thought hmm it's even cheaper and a million times better to get the calipers powder coated since they'll have to flush out the brake fluid and bleed the brakes as well and all together 4 calipers would only be $300ish and it'll last forever. Now i haven't even touched the calipers yet but got new rotors + pads. Ayy..

Don't you have to get the computer re-programmed once you remove the sensor? That's what i've read from researching about the P0106 cel code.
