I'd go with whatever is closer--sears or lowes--simply from a warranty perspective.

I think I'm gonna go with the Kobalt set. 72-tooth ratchets vs 36 on the Craftsman and they bought have the same warranty and they're both within a 15min drive. Also, the Kobalt includes deep sockets for sizes other than the 1/4in.

I think I'd rather pay my car off before I put myself in debt for some tools

Well...with my dumb luck the day before I took my wheels off for the winter, the Marriott valet in DC ended up curbing my front passenger wheel to kingdom come. Pretty much died when I saw it (I always inspect my car whenever I HAVE to valet it).

Before you respond with "NEVER VALET YOUR CAR", yes I know. I NEVER valet my car unless it's absolutely necessary and in this case, the hotel does not have self parking, nor was I able to do any street parking in Washington, DC for that length of time (staying overnight). So I took the gamble and ended up with this unfortunate incident.

I filed a claim right then and there on the spot at the hotel. I was told I would have to wait 5-10 business days for them to investigate the claim, and I would receive a call from the manager. Hopefully it's sooner than later because this really sucks. Had them on for almost 2 years and kept them mint up until now.

Damn, looks like it was curbed, then backed up and curbed again
I've probably valet parked our G in Vegas over 100x and never an issue, as well as several other cars, although it does come out of the garage pretty quick some times.

Ignore Rochester. He's an old man who doesn't appreciate the value in documenting the minutia of our lives on Facebook...

...irrespective of sharing the minutia of our car hobby in an automotive forum.

I mainly use FB to keep in touch with friends, group chats, and infiniti groups where I can get inspiration, ideas, and deals on parts. Like I just bought my winter tires for 30% off msrp through a local guy in a VQ North group . He even dropped them off at my house, and I got to drive his g37s

@Rochester, "we fear what we don't truly understand" . I share the sentiment. I don't trust facebook, google, etc. Folks voluntarily reveal way too much information.

I'm ok with the forum site as there's some level of anonymity and privacy.

Well, Im in a few North of the border groups. A few Marketplace groups that are more local to where I am. The International ones are Custom DIY Nissan/Infiniti VQ - Robbies Group from Japan Auction Parts, Then there is V36 Sedan Drivers.
