Lol, I was saying that I wanted to mould the chrome to the rest of the trunk, and make the whole thing OB.

Hex, I think BlueBat sells a vinyl for the chrome spoiler to color match it to your trunk. It's not the same thing as molding it but it will definitely look much better. My trunk looks exactly like your picture, but my car is white.

I wouldn't wrap it. Didn't wrap my grille, and wouldn't do it here. Having to deal with a lot of salt and crap in the winter wears the vinyl out. I might just sand it and paint it like I did my grille, but something about it fused with the trunk makes me like it so much more lol.

You know, I had my lower bumper section wrapped 3 years ago, and the damn thing won't wear out or get ripped or whatever. I'd rather like it to, because it's imperfect, and I'm wanting that area painted. My point being, sometimes exterior vinyl can last a long, long time.

Absolutely. That pic you shopped is a really good look, and I think you can get there by simply painting that trim in factory OB.
Remove the trim piece, drop it off at a shop. A few days and $60 later, reinstall it.
That approach makes Winter and your condo garage irrelevant.
The 'couple of days' is an issue since I have to drive my car every day to work 45 min one way, and 45 back. Hmmmm.... I wander if at 3 AM or some other ridiculous hour, I can just go in there, tape it up, sand it down, and do the paint lol. I have all the paint already from painting my grille. And my spot is close to the ventilation shaft, so it should air out fairly quickly.

+ 1, the black isn't a 3 stage paint and is easy to paint match. Maybe even prep the trim piece before taking it to a painter so all he has to do is shoot it. Taking off that trim piece takes minutes.
If its that easy, Ill just go paint it once I get home lol.

Step 2. browse for local shops, make a few calls.
Step 3. Profit.
Or DIY if you've the skills. That works too.
As for driving around without it for a few days... meh. That's what duct tape is for. And if that makes you self-conscious, buy some duct tape in gloss black at the hobby store.

EDIT: DONE!!! Rochester made me do it in about two days, ill polish it a bit, and then put a thin bead of silicone around the perimeter. The old seal is pretty bad.
Ill take a better photo when the sun is out tomorrow if I dont forget.
