Theretrofit Source XB Led projector style foglights - trying to rally more interest.

This is strictly for 2010+ Sedan owners or whoever has done a 2010+ front end swap.

I spoke to the owner of TRS (TheRetrofit Source) about the current XB LED projector style foglights (2010+ Sedan) that they have for our cars ( modification required), to make a direct fit bracket, to which his reply was

-" We're doing a facelift to the "Type S" fog that these are based on and will consider tooling a bracket to make them a direct fit for the G. Show us the interest though, that will help!“

So here I am trying to see who would be interested in those, the more people the better. They're awesome, I have them on my car but had to modify them to make them fit, and since I'm OCD about those things, I'd like to switch them out for updated ones with the direct fit bracket.

There's already about 15 people interested in the FB groups so far,and counting, so I'm really hoping many of you guys will be interested as well

Here's the link of the fogs so anyone of you can check them out

^ this would definitely be somewhere on the list of things I want to do, but I cant commit right at this time. I hope enough people pick this up, and build a bridge that I can cross in the future.

but... but.. it's pretty affordable $170 for the outgoing fogs I can't imagine the face lifted ones with the direct fit bracket being more than $200, and I certainly hope so too!

lol its definitely affordable, but Im about to invest in some big dollar upgrades once the winter ends, plus student loans, and other payments. I have to count every penny. I spend money waaaaay too easily. Plus in canadian dollars, thats 265, and import charges, and shipping, it really adds up. Making 45k here has the same standard of living as making 45k in the US, (except we also pay much bigger taxes ~31%) so as soon as you buy from the us, you get screwed by the $$ exchange rate. And unfortunately 99% of all parts have to be bought from the us and imported.

Its very easy to convince me to make my baby more beautiful, and almost every time Im under the influence, my bank account hates me, so I need to stay away from you for the next week or so in case I get intoxicated.

I understand, that totally makes sense

We carry the exact same fog lights here on our site: LUXEON LED Fog Lamps (Type C) - LUXEON LED Fog Lamps - Full Assemblies - All Products

We have the capability to make those brackets in-house, rather than sourcing them overseas. If there was enough demand for it, we could definitely look into it for you guys.

They are manufactured by Esuse

Good to know Nick! Thanks for the heads up! What kind of "demand" are we talking about, how many interested people is it going to take?

I'm not sure, but I can tell you that our new Stratasys 3D printer uses a proprietary material that costs around $2,000~ per pound lol.

So if our mechanical engineer is going to develop custom brackets, we want to make sure there's enough people interested.

We've been gearing up for SEMA the past few months, so once that's over and things slow down a bit, we may be able to look into it.

I've been planning on pursuing an LED fog lens replacement project over the coming Winter. However, I'm really not interested in customizing a bracket for fitment. If this were plug-n-play, I'd be on-board with strong interest as well.

Up until this point, the only Fog that's caught my interest is the pair from iJDMToy. And I'm not really interested in the halo component, just the fog. I also haven't researched this deep enough to understand the fitment issues.

We are still waiting for the factory connectors to arrive for the G37 Sedan Tail-as-Turn™ modules as well. You guys wouldn't believe how hard it is to source those things.

It's a proprietary design used specifically on the G35/7 Sedans, and Nismo Z's

I'm excited for those to show up

You gotta give me something, give me a number of people, then at least we all will know what the goal is to reach however many people needed, otherwise it's all pointless

Shoot an email with the details to: contact@diodedynamics.com

I'll talk to our team in the product development meeting and bring this up

Our owner's wife has a G37 Sedan, so maybe we could use that for measurements and so forth.

The iJDMToy fog has always looked a little too busy to me, particularly with that useless halo component. I much prefer the one that Nick and Mike are discussing.

Make that plug-n-play and I'm on-board, contributing to whatever thread comes around with a review and pictures.
