You quoted me out of context. Here is the full quote. See how that explains things?

Look, I'm fully cognizant of two things here:
  1. Neither you nor I are leaving the forum because of the other. I've established friendships here, and whatever reason you're here is your own.
  2. In the context of your forum personae, this is actually you trying really hard to get along.

So my advice is to stop. Yes, that was your advice, too, but that was done with overt condescension. This time, let's just stop without any insults.

Good?

I'll help table this unecessary banter between you two about who is right and who is wrong. If you wish to continue, take it offline into PMs.

I do have a question that I cannot find an answer for:

For anyone running the Akebono BBK with aftermarket wheels, has anyone used a 9.5" width or higher and what offset are those wheels? I'd like info for both front and rear, however front is more important.

I'm looking at a set of wheels that are 19x9.5 ET38 and I can't really determine if I will need a thin set of spacers or not...

I upgraded to the Akebono BBK they cleared my Volk GT-S 19x9.5 +35 all around. The fronts cleared by 1 or 2mm

now I am running the Work Durdandal 19x9.5 +25 all around and they clear no problem.

I heard that if a wheel has multiple disk types that also comes into play as well.

Fronts: Vossen CVT 19x8.5" +32, 3mm spacers, Michelin PSS 245/40ZR19
Rears: Vossen CVT 19x10.0" +42, Michelin PSS 275/35ZR19

This comes up from time to time, so I put it in the OP of my progress thread.

Connor, I have the Akebono's and my TSW Nurburgring specs were as follows:

FR - 19x8.5 +45 with Michelin Pilot A/S + 245/40-19
RR - 19x9.5 +46 with Michelin Pilot A/S + 275/35-19

My offsets where more conservative because I wasn't lowered and still am not- I didn't want the poke. I figured I could be set for both being lowered and stock. In the case of being lowered, I planned to remedy with with spacers.

John, you had mentioned the front undercarriage braces from the 'Vert as an mod. I looked into that a year-ish or so back but never got around to pulling the trigger on it. As cheap of a mod as it is, it's back on my short list, but I'm not going to do it until spring. Working in the garage when it's cold out is not my idea of a good time.

My front specs are 265/35/19x10 +30 and clear with a few mm. I think whether a set of wheels clears the brakes is dependent on the spoke design, or if it is multipiece then the disk that is used.

Vert Cradle Braces are on my list for Spring, too. Not sure when... certainly before the AutoX event my buddy Matt and I are going to.

With some self-restraint, I want to have some extended seat-time in the car, with warm pavement and Vossens/PSS back on. I'd also like some slack to get used to the new exhaust before introducing another mod, because let's face it... it's a pretty subtle thing.

Probably late April.

Thanks John et all. I'll probably just end up ordering the wheels anyhow and then figure out what kind of spacers I need (if any) to make them fit

Tony - your point about wheel design makes we wonder. I guess I was under the general dumb assumption that no spoke design in a wheel would bleed inward more than the hub of the wheel.

New the site... Recently bought CPO 2013 G37... Coming from my rice rocket, this definitely is a step up as far as ride comfort and luxury

Sucks that it has that bumper "dent" but hopefully the OEM front chin spoiler will cover it up (came with the deal)... First mod I guess. I'll probably try and attempt to push it out but we'll see.

Lets see how long she remains stock Hahaha!

Welcome to the site! Any mods planned for the future?

One thing I will mention, you might need to bump that dent out before installing a front lip. Otherwise, go buy a sport bumper on eBay with free shipping and get that painted and installed. Will really tie the whole front end together

Also, get a midnight grille
