Finally pulled the trigger on tires after the family trip to Costco today. Michelin Pilot Super Sports
For $15/tire Costco offers lifetime mounting and balancing, road hazard, nitrogen fill, and flat repair for the life of the tire. $865 out the door for stock size. 3-5 days for delivery, should be able to get them on next Saturday

Would I pay the $69-$179 the article references for nitrogen? No. But it's free.
The whole point of the article was that it wasn't worth it, and I agree. But again, it's free. Should I need to add air, I'll either use my air compressor in the garage or plug four quarters into an air machine at a gas station.
Will either of those solutions dilute the nitrogen and thus diminish any minor advantage nitrogen has over air, sure. But so what? At that point it will be like having regular air in the tires
$15/tire is a steal for lifetime mounting and balancing plus road hazard and lifetime flat repair. When I got the Potenza S04 tires last fall, I got them mounted and balanced for $14.99, excluding road hazard and lifetime flat repair (the value of which is obviously debatable, and not something I would personally pay for, but it's a nice addition). Just recently we replaced the tires on my wife's Acura MDX and got charged $120 granted there was a convenience factor involved there, but still....
Finally, if nitrogen really matters to a tire consumer, why not just drop your car off at Costco when you're shopping? We were there yesterday and the auto department was quoting 1-1.5 hours to mount and balance tires, on a Saturday! It took us 2 hours to get through the whole store, plenty of time to have had tires checked and rotated (Costco also includes free rotation, but obviously that doesn't matter with a staggered setup).

I love Costco but have not gotten tires from them in years. Their install price is great, but I found that I never took my vehicles back by there for the "free" stuff b/c it was always crowded with a long wait. One of those "sounds great but sucks in reality" things.
Congrats on the new shoes though!

Costco was $865 for the PSS, Tire Rack was $812 shipped, and Discount Tire Direct was $800 shipped. I would have needed to get the tires mounted and balanced for $16.68 or less to have "saved" any money over Costco. Possible, probably, but it seems like a wash

Quick question, are the center caps on OEM wheels removable while the wheels are still on the car? And are they installable while the wheels are on the car?
Also shameless plug for OB sedan thread, if you have pics please share!

These were the cheapest ones I found in a quick 30 second search. $30 for 4.
