Finally got a chance to test fit the mesh grille (thanks again alfredo), wondering what the regulars think. I really like the look even though the project is still incomplete, though the grille itself is pretty tough to get to fit well into the bumper (still working on some tweaks)
Still to do:
1) Get paint-matched (dropping off on Sat.)
2) Buy & mount Fuji emblem (trying to find a larger one)
3) Consider mesh swap (would really like a thicker mesh but there's really not much room to fit it as the thin mesh is already up against that post thing in the bumper at the center of the grille)

For the emblem, the 4" wide is too small. I think I had the 5 and 1/4" long, and yet I wished it was a bit bigger.
I say had because somehow it went flying off (or maybe stolen
) and noticed when I got homemaybe these threads will help you with the emblem size.

Alfredo: thanks (yet again) for posting those links about the emblem, think I'll try to find a QX56 rear emblem, seems like it will fit the extra space well whereas the OEM G emblem would look too small.
Living a mile outside of DC, it's a miracle I even have a garage

Spent the weekend up in Canada with some old car-friends. Came away with some new ideas and plans.
1. I'm not painting the calipers this year. For two reasons: one is that I need to paint/clean my rotor hats first, before ever calling blingy attention to the calipers. And two, because ridiculing that idea became a running joke all weekend. (I'm not proud, LOL).
2. Time to ditch the 5 gold fender washers on the radiator shroud, and just use matching black. I've been thinking that for a while. You know, Third World Problems, LOL.
3. I thought I was taking good care of my Stone Leather. Turns out I'm not, LEXOL be damned.
My friend Mark showed me what Leatherique can do to clean and restore the leather after applying it to a section of the driver's seat overnight, then cleaning it off the next day. I was floored. Seriously, it was an OMG moment. So I just now ordered some Leatherique. Can't wait to get it.
4. They loved my Titanium teardrop shift **** idea from Lathewerks.com. Figured they would. I ordered that this morning, too.

And see how your radiator-cover bolts are corroding? Wouldn't something like this look outstanding, as replacement hardware?

Fender washers are very standard stuff, man. Those ones there are VMS fender washers in a gunmetal finish. There are a variety of manufacturers, designs and finishes. Search the web, Amazon, eBay, etc. A pack of five fender washers like that are only $5 to $10 on eBay.

M6 is the thread pattern, nisfish. Specifically, it's the diameter (6 millimeters), with a thread pitch of 1mm. The other measurement is the length. Most little retaining bolts on Japanese cars are M6x15. In the case of these bolts (which are countersunk with a separate collar) you measure from the flat top of the bolt to the bottom of the threads. Standard bolts (not countersunk) are measured from the underside of the head to the bottom of the threads.
