You will love it especially if it's going to be non resonated I can only imagine it will sound very close! I drove Kevin's 6MT with his FI with 18 inch resonators and holy crap that sounded amazing made my Invidia Q300 sound like stock exhaust

Its really not that loud if you keep your foot out of it. I've mastered driving around my apartment complex as quietly as possible.

I'll say this, if I'm not laying into it I can hear my sway bar squeaking... I'll have to get that fixed asap.

Still sounds good.

Had to get my sways greased the other day. Worked out okay, got them done while I was getting an alignment. Though now I need another alignment...

How long have you been waiting?
2 months and counting. I can't say I'm a fan of this but I keep telling myself good things come to those who wait (which I've never done).

I have the 12 inch resonators ordered and now I'm wondering if I should get rid of them for non res.

Like I have mentioned above I drove a local member's 6mt too with 18 inch resonators and I was amazed.. So 12 can't be any worse. Worst case you can always swap them for non resonated pipes

Part Number

Guys, I need a new lower engine cover / splash shield. Not even sure what to call it, but mine got ripped up last month when the car was towed after my clutch slaver cylinder blew, and I only recently discovered the damage. Not really interested in a fancy Z1 Motorsports replacement, even though that black powdercoated V2 shield is pretty nice. I just want to replace the big plastic thing as cheaply as possible.

Problem is, I can't figure out the proper part number. And there appear to be cheaper aftermarket replacements, but I can't seem to figure that out either. It's weird. Can anyone help me out here?

I was on the fence of getting the Black powder coated V2 but figured it wasn't worth the Extra $$ for something i wont see. But as you saw, the aluminum shield (under tray) is really sturdy compared to the oem filmsy one. I also wanted to just replace it with Oem and tried ebay and got one for $66 shipped and turned out to be aftermarket even though seller said it was OEM. I figured the aluminum one would hold up for the life of the car and i wouldnt have to worry every winter about it tearing up again. I also think it would be able to protect the under carriage quite well from any road debris on the highway as it is very tough. I see way too many G's on the road and can see their underbody shroud hanging down about to be torn on to the road.

Did it get torn up or did the clips break? Because mine looked pretty bad but when I had the dealership look at it they said they just needed to replace the clips, and didn't charge me anything for it.

It got tore up. A 6" x 6" section was ripped forward and is hanging down about an inch from the ground. I suspect from the chains when it was towed, but IDK how, really. Going to remove the cover today and either cut it off, or ziptie it up.

And yeah, that black powder coated Z1 cover is nice. But it's just a lower panel, so kind of hard for me to justify it at the moment.

Those $70 eBay panels... Meh. eBay.

That's the shield. However, the site screws up the association of part to diagram, and doesn't actually list the cover, just the bolts. Weird.

After all my fuss and research into the ramp "problem" since first deciding to drop the car, turns out not to be a problem at all. Well, for the front end, at least. In the back, there's still no way for the 10" tires to fit on these plastic ramps.

But in the front... I have a 1"x12", six foot panel that perfectly spans the width of the front of the car. If all I do is drive up that first, it seems I can easily get up the ramp the rest of the way, without rubbing anywhere. On the up-side, the car will always be evenly parked on the board, because you tuck to board to the tires, and the ramps will always be perfectly aligned with the wheels because you tuck the ramps flush with the board. Geeeeeezus... I should have been doing this years ago. Feel like an idiot.

Cool beans. So much stupid fuss about something so stupid. LOL
