To whoever was on the Green Line yesterday between Englewood and Brandon Hall at 3 AM last night. You were blonde, white, wearing a brown leather jacket with pink Niki's; I was wearing an NSYNC tee-shirt and eating a footlong from Subway. Damn, my car feels slow and quiet. Nothing has changed, it's running great and the mods are well-matched to the car. But it just feels... tame.

Never should have driven that F-Type S. Because the only way I'm getting into that car for real is if it's four or five years old, and that's just a guess.

That gives you time to keep modding! I'm thinking the Ark exhaust and a FI TT and you'll be happy again?

Yeah... an Ark Grip cat-back, Takeda intake (to replace the R2C), Motordyne UIM, an UpRev or Ecu-Tek tune, and some 4.083 rear gears. Maybe some GT-Spec frame bracing, a TWM short-throw shifter, a RJM Clutch pedal and some ES differential bushings. Oh, and whatever else comes along in the next 5 years that I haven't heard of or doesn't exist yet.

But no FI.

I'm on the fence about the Motordyne UIM but will need to decide before a tune. I'm hoping to stop modding eventually...

Quick question. I'm lowered on Eibachs and I'm not happy with my drop in the rear, the front looks perfect. It seems to be about a 1/4 inch too low. Its a perfect drop on my 18" winter rims, but not so much for my 19" summers. The reason why I want to get some suggestions on what to do about the drop in the rear is because I may be purchasing another set of coupe 19" for my winter rims instead of the 18" I have now. What could I do to modify the springs I have now, or suggestions on other springs that would give me a better drop? The tire sizes I'm running right now are 225/45 front and 245/40 rears. I am thinking about taking the 245s from the rear and putting them on the front rims and getting 275s for the rears, mainly to eliminate the need for spacers to achieve the flush look.

Here is the best shot I have of the 18's on my G, its not great but you get the point.

and here is when I added spacers, so you can see it a little closer.

Then here is the best one I have of the rears, as of now, I can get a better picture later if needed.

So if I understand correctly, he basically put a spacer in the springs to get rid of the sag, correct?

Because I was almost considering trying out a completely new set of springs, but if that would work and save me time and money then I may try that route, but I don't feel comfortable doing it myself.

The rear springs are much easier to work on than the fronts, maybe another member nearby could lend a hand? As far as that fix, it seems to be a legit cure, there's been quite a few that have done it w/ solid results.

The R2C is beautiful, sounds great, was an easy install, and priced right. But in so far as being an optimal mod goes, the long-tube intake design is better than the short-ram. The plan all along was to enjoy the R2C for two or three years, then upgrade before getting the car tuned.

Besides, it's a chance to try something new.

Something to raise the back-end drop a little bit, to match the front?

You know, I just went and looked. You posted that same link in the Swift Springs thread, where AroundTheG37 was b1tching like a whiny prep-school girl about the uneven drop. But no one commented afterwards, and I never read through that thread.

Reading now.

[edit] Short read. So Newt, do you think this applies to the RWD as well?

The rear suspension of the AWD and RWD are the same as far as the setup, lower control arms (spring buckets), and the upper rubber spring cone. There's been a few RWDs that have done it (a couple in that thread IIRC)
There's also two choices in bushing thickness a 3/8" and 5/8 to give you a more exact lift.

Now you have me wondering if I need to take at options before installing the springs.

Well, you know my thoughts on intakes on these cars. Whatever floats your boat...

The Takeda at least seems to make solid gains:
