In the context of DIY activities... I've been trying to patch and paint the damage done last month to my front bumper corner. You know, where I scraped a chunk of paint right off on a high curb.
If I do say so myself, it looks worse now than if I had just done nothing at all.

My car goes in next week to get the fender bender damage fixed. The chip in my windshield can't be repaired because its in the driver's sight line. And for whatever reason, state farm tells me windshield repairs are subject to my deductible. So, $1000

I don't know. The damage was only about a 1"x3" section, but it actually gouged past the paint into the bumper itself. I tried sanding it down, but no go. So I bought some Spot Putty, and sanded that down relatively good (or good enough). But at this point the area with primer is getting bigger, and all I have is touch-up paint to match the moonlight white. Touch Up is not meant to be brushed into such a large area, so now it looks like I patched it with drywall mortar, LOL.
I think what I need to do is sand it down (yet again), and this time spray it with QAA-Code paint. That means ordering QAA online, one can of base-coat, and one can of top-coat. This gets upwards to $60 now.
Step 1: collect underpants...
What? I always thought windshield coverage was 100% and zero deductible. It always has been for me, the two times I've ever used it.

Well that sucks. Time for the body shop?

I used it when I lived in Ohio and it was $0. My agent tells me it is a North Carolina thing
Sorry to hear that Lego! That sucks for sure and that deductible is a swift kick in the nads. I'm not sure what you're paying premium wise with State Farm but after this is all settled, you may want to give Geico a call for a quote. I used to be with State Farm and am saving $60 per month with Geico for the works coverage (100k/300k, rental, and a $250 deductible).
The other reason I've stuck with State Farm, is they use OEM body parts, not 3rd party.
Stupid reasons, I know. And I'm not exactly in the high risk demographic--39, married with kids, home owner, good credit etc.
I should probably shop around....
