Lol! Trust me man, I can't either. Just trying to wrap up these couple projects that have been in the works but dang, it's definitely getting pricey.

I'm afraid you might be right. Which would probably be okay. It's looking to be a busy summer work wise. But still, I hope I get some wheel time in at least. I do still have the headliner project to finish, hopefully that will keep me busy during my off hours.

I cleaned the throttle bodies last weekend then swapped out the grounding kit for a BB 4 AWG kit. Maybe it's just me and wishful thinking but the car seems to be shifting much better and the butt dyno says moar power. Could be everything working together? The TB cleaning, grounding kit, lighter rims and tires?

Spacer Question

Who's in this thread with knowledge about wheel spacers?

Here's what I'm thinking:
  • The rear wheels poke about 0.5" from fender to lip. The front rim lip is freakishly, perfectly flush with the fender.
  • After dropping the rear (next week) 0.8", I'm expecting the rears to draw in at the top a little. Probably not all the way, but enough to make me happy. (Knock on wood.)
  • After dropping the front 1.2", I'm expecting the fronts to draw in at the top even more than the rear, meaning no longer perfectly flush. Which is fine. I don't care that much about tuck.

I've commented how with these 19" VOSSENS, there's what looks like easily less than 1/8" clearance between the front wheel spokes and the front BBK calipers. That situation seems to be OK, but it continues to completely freak me out. (I'm funny that way.)

So... What if I put a 5mm or less spacer on the front after the drop? Does that make sense? AFAIK, you can put a 5mm spacer on without new lugs, right?

Can spacers be bought hub-centric to size?

Wait, that's an easy research. $28 shipped for two 3mm hub-centric spacers. Easy peasy.

Step 1: drop the car. Step 2: assess if 3mm spacers would look OK. Step 3: profit.

If you're uneasy w/ such little caliper clearance the 3mm would be perfect, you should still have enough stud for a secure mount and the additional 3mm will give you piece of mind. A buddy of mine had an STi and a pebble got up into the caliper at speed and gouged the hell out of it, he had about 2mm clearance at the caliper so a bit more wouldn't hurt. 5mm might be overkill and now that you'll be dropped you may hit the inner non-rolled front fender edge under heavy compression if you go to flush, so less is more in this case.

I stopped short of ordering them when I saw the 66.2 mm reference, when I know the hub is actually 66.1 mm. So now IDK.

Then there's this Amazon pair for $28 (prime), with the correct measurement, except the title says 3mm while the details say 5mm. Grrr. Then again, the manufacturer part # is accurate to the 3mm spec.

Nevermind. I ordered the spacers from Amazon. (That was quick, LOL@me)

Yes, they're hub-centric to the 66.1 mm hub. The product details say 5mm, but I'm pretty sure that's a typo-o, because the title says 3mm, and more importantly the manufacturer's product ID# matches up to their 3mm spacer:

UT-3mm-5114.3-66.1

Actually, their product ID# pretty much covers all the bases.

Wish I could help you. I've only heard the Berks and FI thus far. I saw you were on the Berks FS in the classifieds. Kevalteam has some FIs listed also but they're a bit more $.

Best I can tell you is that butt dyno approves of the FI RHFCs for sure.

Yeah I'll have an extra pay check this month so I was hoping to get a pair of HFCs before the meet up, then I should get my bonus when I get back so I'll be ordering a CBE, probably Stillen.

That's always a good thing. What are they running now? Timeline is a little snug but hopefully you can make that work. They do ship quickly, they got me parts in a day or two as I recall. Which I've now been sitting on for 4 or 5 months...

I was considering a set of springs before the meet but I don't think I'll have my calipers back yet and even if I do I think the likelihood of getting everything installed the day before Easter is slim. If I'm lucky I'll be able to get the engine bay back together though I'm not thrilled with pulling the nose off in the parking lot.
