Front Bumper Troubleshoot on G35x

Alright guys, so I've been trying to remove the front bumper and I cant get the screw connected to the fender by the headlight. It just spins, doesnt loosen or tighten. Anybody else have had this problem? I don't know how else to get it and I dont want to break anything so later when I go to put the bumper back on it looks disconnected on the top part. Any info or help is appreciated, thank you guys.

I'm assuming you're talking about the screw that connects in to the plastic bracket? Is it possible that your car bumper was previously off. (Before you owned it, or during service? ) if the screw was overtightened during reassembly, the rear part of the plastic may have cracked, causing the screw to not be able to grip on the threads / back out.

You may be able to remove the radiator cover, and reach up through in order to push the screw out.

The upper one just under the upper fender well threads into a nylon block, this is easy to strip out, what you need to do is make it the last bolt holding the fender on and just gently pull the fender (preferably w/ a helper) down as you're loosening the bolt, should eventually thread out that way. At this point there's not much holding it in so you could also get a pair of vise grips on the bolt head and pull hard as you loosen it. Once you get it out you'll have to go up a size or two w/ your new screw to get it to bite. Be sure to protect the area around your loose bumper when trying to remove this last screw, some micro towels wrapped between the bumper and body should protect the paint.

That one also goes into a plastic piece, what you need to do is put a large flat blade screwdriver under the bolt head and use a prying outward force as you turn the bolt counter clockwise. You need to keep the prying force consistent as you're turning the bolt head, should be able to get it that way. Good Luck, and like I said before, you'll have to up-size that screw when you reinstall it, or order another plastic mount.
