Should I do a muffler delete on my g37x sedan
#3
Yes. Just finished mine on my 09. I un bolted the mufflers and drove around for a week, decided to finish the delete with some muffler tips, the car got louder but it sounds good IMO. There isn't any drone either.
I need to redo the tips but you get the idea.

I just did the muffler delete on Saturday on my 3 weeks old 2013 g37x as well. Cut the mufflers off and replace it with straight pipes and keep the stock tips. It sounds great, I think it sounds better than a lot of exhuast on the market. There's no rasp but keep in mind, it will be loud.

Yea I'm not gonna keep it naked in the back I'm gonna keep the exhaust tips ... I'm just looking for a better sound and clean look... How much does it cost to cut the mufflers out

You can use whatever tips youd like. I bought some from a store here for $13 each. 3inch rolled tip, single wall. nothing crazy fancy but it got the job done. I didnt want to hack the old tips off the mufflers incase i ever decide to sell or go back to stock.

Just take your G to your local muffler shop and tell them you'd like to take the mufflers off and replaced with straight pipes and re-use your old tips if you don't want to replace them. Your shop will take it from there. I had mine done for $80.

did muffler delete when I 1rst got my car until I decided which exhaust I wanted. Cost was around $80, had my muffler shop cut off mufflers and weld straight pipe back and used the stock tips. Sound was amazing, but drone was def there. If the drone wasnt as bad as it was I would have just left it that way permanently.

What about a mid point between muffler and straight pipe, I might have some 3 inch in/out slp loudmouth mufflers from an old project, might be just enough to get rid of the drone. If that's the case, you could just weld a section of wider straight pipe in place of the muffler.
