Is MPG that much better on RWD than AWD Gs?

Yesterday I had to go to LI. R/T was 200 miles. Going there no traffic a little under two hours. On the way back, from Kennedy to the Verrazano was on the brakes, total trip time 3.5 hours.

All in all, trip computer showed 24.9 including a quarter of a tank used for daily commute. I consider that very good mileage considering the traffic.

Sounds normal to me
