Traded in my G37 yesterday...

This was kind of unexpected but I traded in the G37 for a 135 yesterday. I will miss the G but I think that I made the right decision.

I drove a 2012 135i w/ DCT a while back and loved the drive, much better AT than the G and really connected to the road, just a blast to whip around. I think you made a good choice as long as you have no use for the back seat
Congrats

Thanks...The 135 is also a DCT. This car extremely fun to drive. I have no use for the back seat and now I won't have to take my car when I go out with a group of friends.

Nice ride. The 335 is fast, this should be lighter and quicker.

I've spent an hour or two with the BMW DCT in a friend's M3. Definitely much quicker shifting and more responsive than any of the standard 7 or 8 speed autos, including Infiniti. Paddle shifters weren't instantaneous but darn close. But in the end I'm still an MT guy.

What year? Is it n54 or n55? Great choice, get a tune and it will be great. The new cobb v3 looks awesome.

Everything I've read about the 1-series leads me to think it's a fun, driver's car. The specs on the 135i are pretty impressive. I've still not driven one yet, but I can imagine it would be a blast to own... if you can get past the looks of the thing, which you obviously have. I wouldn't use the word "upgrade" exactly, however if it suits your automotive values, then it's a better fit, and that's all good.

I like white cars.

Sorry, but this is considered an upgrade?

The OP bought the 135i, not the 128i. So specifically in the context of speed and track... yep. It's a very quick car.

As for style, not so much. But style is subjective.

The 7 Spd DCT, suspension, and motor are definitely an upgrade. The interior, back seat, and overall room would be a downside, but I'd consider it an upgrade for the driver, the other 3 passengers might not think so though

It's a 2011 N55. The mod bug has struck me already. Been looking at wheels and exhaust, but still undecided on exactly what I want to get.

I'd consider this an upgrade in terms of performance. I will say that it is a downgrade in interior, since the two features I'' miss will be the navigation and the backup camera.

I think this pretty much sums it up. I looked at a 135 when I bought my G37 and I have to say that they are fantastic cars to drive; the handling is well balanced and the engine is tremendous. The only problem was that in my driving position the back seat was only inhabitable by people without legs but if you only have to worry about yourself and maybe the person sitting next to you it's a fine car.

My friend had a 135 a couple yrs back. It was a beast (modified). but even in stock form, it killed the G. other than the size, the 135 is superior in every way. congrats.

Congrats on the new purchase! my best friend has a 135i N54. Thing is a beast! Has full bolt ons and a tune and will keep up with a new cobra. I raced him when he was stock and back then I had a CAI, CBE, Test pipes and a tune and it was dead even. So you can only image after only a tune how fast those cars can be.
