Halo or angel eyes are nice but are old already. I would go with the LED on the second pic that is more to date but both look good nevertheless.

That's really nice looking Mike! It's somewhat understated and doesn't look like slapping another mfr's design language into the headlight. What is the color you used to get the halo effect?

Don't get me wrong, I love the look of angel eyes and other LED-in-the-headlight mods as long as they're tastefully done. I like your setup as well, Newt! Very clean looking. And the pic you referenced with the half-circle LED rings makes the G headlights look kind of Q50-esque, which is cool, IMHO.

I think I'm still miffed that all these other manufacturer saw the LEDs in the headlights design language that Audi did and their design meetings went something like this:

Well, Audi's got that new LED strip in the headlights, so we gotta have that.

And..

(In Clark Griswold's boss' voice), "Just put some LEDs in there GREASEBALL, I don't care if it's half-a-hexagon but we have to have that!" (Yeah, we're lookin at you, Dodge and Chrysler, and many other manufacturers).

Sorry to veer off topic but I do want to call out Infiniti for not bowing to that fad with the G37 and waiting to implement their own, unique design in the Q50 and they used more of a CFL light strip design than LED. Much prefer seeing those styling elements in the new Q50, rather than just glommed into a V36 headlight, like Lexus did with the IS models.

I would do headlight mods in a heartbeat but don't want go the DIY route or pull them out and ship out as my car is my DD.

In "action". Notice on the left (passenger) side, how it glows mainly due to reflection and contrast.

I didn't want to bring it up. Everyone's got their opinion on their car, which is fine. But I agree. I don't like putting things on my car to look like another brand. I also can't stand all these "catch up" from all these other manufacturers. But at least that's OEM. But I don't like making a car look like an Audi or BMW through aftermarket retrofits.

Thanks. I masked for areas that i wanted to stay chrome, then sprayed the remaining areas with Dupli-color Shadow.

Here are a few other photos to show the other "detailed" areas i masked off.

IMO you've got the black theme going pretty well, but you want to have a bit of a break in all the black so it doesn't just look like you drove into a swimming pool of black paint. I have the carbon dipped mirrors and front spoiler along w/ the carbon wrap grill & rear valance that gives enough contrast for a better overall look (again IMO). I think the black vinyl window trim would go well along w/ your future darkened taillights but may want to think of a few places where you can get a bit of contrast. The black carbon wrap is pretty nice, it's got a carbon fiber texture and has enough matte in the blend to break up the gloss black. If there's a place in Florida that does hydro-dipping that a cool option for a carbon fiber look without the high pricetag. Here's a thread I had about that and w/ some Niteshades added to the parts it made for a nice blend. Here's the window trim DIY too, really cheap & easy & matches your factory vinyl door pillars perfectly

I like the halos honestly, but the one's in op's pic don't look that great. Go take a look at 180's work, their halos look way better that the one's originally posted. Im looking to do them but instead of two rings just one. Member Zydan has this and it looks sick.

Better and smaller, you say. Hmm, what could possibly fit that bill?

Hey Newt, any recommendations?

Just check out the DIY link I provided above, it's vinyl and it's easy. Keep in mind Justin, the door pillars on your G are a vinyl sticker, the same as the vinyl you'd be applying to the trim, you can see how well they hold up. My previous 07 G35 door pillars still look like new
