G37xS or the Q50H AWD

Have a question for you G37 experts. I have had a couple G35x over the last 8 years and an M37x

Trading in my M37x today to surprise my wife with a fully loaded Q50S AWD and will take my old 08 G 35x Back

The last 2013 G37xS caught my attention after price dropped 5k
Have never driven a g37xS as you know they will make no more of this car. there is 1 black on black left at my dealer for 36,700 everything but tech package

Or for 52k a fully loaded Q50 H
Both with VPP pricing
Any thoughts on the 37xS for that type of discount? Just wondered if the 37 xS will hold value a little more as the last of it's model and will I be satisfied while the Q works through its startup bugs
Or do I just order my Q50 and pay the 16k because it is going to be such a better ride?

Any feedback on how the hands free cell phone works in 2013 G37 vs the 2008 G35? All of my hands free cell phone use in the Infiniti has been marginal
Paired my phone with Q 50 and it was MUCH better
Thanks

There are several threads on this board comparing the Q v the G. There are several threads on the new Q50 board doing the same. Obviously posters on both boards are biased towards their own rides so you need to read through that. I just picked up my xS as a commuter car and love it. The Q was not an option b/c I don't want to spend that much coin on my 3rd car.

It's going to be hard to predict the resale on both but you're starting out with a huge gap right now. Plus you're buying the Q at the "high" price. Unfortunately for you the Sport packages are not being made anymore so whatever is out there is all you have to pick from. That limits your leverage on negotiating.

I have no issues at all with my iPhone in my xS. I would suggest trying it out on a long test drive and see how it works.

The Q with the Sport Package will drive much better than the AWD G with the Sport Package.

Both have the identical powertrain, so in that respect, the G is a vastly better buy.

The Q has an undeniably better interior. It makes the G interior feel cheap. I hate saying that, but it's my honest opinion, no matter how sad.

Overall, if you're wanting random, individual opinions, I'd say the cost differential doesn't support the subjective and very small differences between the cars. If cost is the deciding factor, then consider this: a fully loaded G37xS will cost just as much (per your deal here) as a base model, RWD-Q... but in that comparison, the G is the better buy. But there is no right answer, so my advice is to have your wife choose.

Good luck with your choice. Look up the Q50 Forum for more answers. There's lots of people over there with tons of opinions comparing the Q against all kinds of cars.

Thanks
She is taking surprise delivery on Q today
The question as for little old me do I drive the old G that I liked better than my M or do I go ahead and get a new ride
Thought I was going to do Q H but the black on black 37xS caught my attention at 16k less

Decisions decisions

Didn't realize you we're talking about having both a Q and a G at the same time, one for each of you. If I were in your shoes, then I would switch it up and get something else entirely, outside the INFINITI brand.

I agree, I'd get something else entirely different. The new Lexus IS caught my eye when I saw it for the first time the other day, the GS is also very nice. Right now we have 2 sedans (G and an accord), when my fiance gets a new car she'll be picking up a small SUV. Will give us the option of taking home larger items that don't fit in a sedan (considering the Mercedes GLK or Audi Q3, the Infiniti FX is sweet though).

I also wouldn't buy 2 Q50's because it's the first model year, there's bound to be some little glitches they correct in later years, would suck to have both of your cars out at the same time while they're getting updated.

Also agree, I was going to test a Q in Vegas next month but i think i'm going to hold off until October. I've got a friend that owns a few dealerships in El Paso that includes Mercedes, Lexus, Volvo, VW, & Infiniti so I'll test the Q and the MB CLA45 AMG at the same time (although I may have to wait a bit for AMGs to get to the lot).
The way Infiniti is going my 09 may be my last one, I'm also thinking the C7 Corvette will get a serious look

Why? I like my dealer, the vehicle and the lack of drama with the car. I could see owning two Infinitis....although my weekend car is going to be an m3.

That's probably the same for me... although I can imagine a scenario 6 or 7 years from now, where I could be buying a 2 year old Q60S 6MT. That could very well be my version of your mid-life crisis C7. Although by then, I believe we'll both be well past "mid-life", LOL.

This is not the first time I've seen you write about the new Vette, Newt. Sounds like you need to go scratch that itch... probably next Spring, when it's not so new, and dealerships aren't so freaked out about the new hotness.

Q50 if you can spend the extra $

For me I went used g37sport 30k miles 2011 25k fully loaded with basically every option offered by infiniti

20k savings on a commuter 2nd car out weighted the nice interior and updated exterior styling I would get with a comparably equipped new Q50.

Depends on your situation. Too many factors to give you an answer, this is something you have to decide on. Pros and cons with either choice .

I own two Infiniti's and don't think too much of it. I'm not a fanboi but just find that both fit my needs. In fact I was talking to a buddy last night and he was asking me about what I was going to replace the QX56 with. I was honestly stumped b/c there is nothing out there asking for my $. I'll definitely go look at the new Escalade EXT when it comes out but I'll want to upsize up. Plus I'm not a fan of the new cartoonish styling of the QX56. Then again, it's the wife's truck so she'll get whatever she wants and right now she's not asking for anything.

But I digress....owning two of the same vehicle is safe in one regard since they're of similar design and easy to understand. It is boring in the sense of not having the variety. Then again I was going either Audi A4/S4 or G37 so I would have been doubling up on one of my vehicle brands either way.

Thx for variety of input
Just picked up Q50 wife was thrilled as one might expect

I like having two of same brand my dealer treats me well and their service dept is fantastic so that service and willingness to offer me best pricing, or so it seems, on service etc is worth something. Also they are offering free oil changes for life on new purchases

Now what to do myself?? Fully Loaded 13 37xS with taxes under 40k is forcing me to consider it given the first year on Q50. Being told it is the last 37xS they will get.... I will go back and drive on Monday - have never driven the 37xS. Wonder if that might help future resale if in 1 or 2 years the Q50 demanded I buy one

Sure would be screwed if the Q50 had problems and both ones car were same

Fun problems to have and I can just enjoy my 08 G35x

They will get more 37x - just not the S. The G will continue thru model year '15 - and that includes the 'x'.

You could wait - then get a '14 x....swap bars/springs/rims - and end up with a better overall pkg.

Just a thought....
