Whats up everyone, I need some help here. I know most of the decision on on based on personal driving but I need some pros and cons on trading my 5AT 08 G37s coupe for a 6spd 10 G37s sedan. The sedan is well 2 years newer, less miles, and 6spd. Do you guys think the trade is worth it? And also, I have BC coils and SPC camber kit that I haven't installed yet for the coupe, do you think that it would be a direct application to the sedan?

Ask yourself these questions:

1) do you need a usable back seat and larger trunk?
2) do you really want a manual?
3) do you mind having a higher payment?
4) do you mind that the Q50 is out now and the G37 sedan is now an "older generation"?

Good point Blamb, it's 50/50 honestly, but tomorrow when I go check out the car, and give me a good deal, I'll trade up, if not then I'm perfectly fine with my current G

I'd do it, especially if you need the back seat for more than just a few bags of groceries. The camber kits & coils are indeed a perfect fit so I'd say do it

This is a just a theory... The new Q50 is coming out, which we know does not offer an MT and it is likely that an MT will not be made with model (maybe on the Turbo, but who knows) as there is too much Technology on the Q50 that requires an AT. In the grand scheme of things, I think owning a 6MT (which I already do) will increase the value of our vehicles over the next few coming years (as MT's in Infiniti Sedans become more scarce and most importantly rare.)

This is just another way of looking at your present situation as to whether to keep or trade, my 2c's.

I agree with Scotty - 6MT sedans are already rare, and will become even more rare with no MT version of the Q50. I think it should come down to the difference in price and mileage. If the sedan has significantly fewer miles and is within your price range, I would definitely go for it.

While I see some truth in the 6MT rarity theory, I wouldn't get one just based on that. I'm not sure where the OP is from, but in Los Angeles, if I drove a MT everyday in our traffic, I'd cut my legs off.

It could be. It's not uncommon for U.S. models to not have options or configurations that other parts of the world does.

I disagree!

On my 06 G35 6 sp manual that I traded in last August with 171792 miles it still had the original clutch and the first set of replacement brake pads that were installed at 85k miles. IMHO it is not necessary to replace transmission fluid in a MT.

If properly driven a clutch will last 200k miles.

Also a manual is much safer to drive in bad weather along with its braking ability via downshifting without touching the brakes,

i like the coupe but the sedan has been treating me well
it is a preference but manual is the way to go!!!!

Op no need to trade for sedan that have the same engine , wait for Q60 at least it's a newer generation

Not to leave this part out, but if the Q50's base is $44k and loaded at $52. Can we expect that the new model of the Q60 will start out at $50k and be in high $50's/low $60's fully loaded? Wonder what a Convertible Q60 will go for? Ouch!

While I like this picture above, I think it is like a Concept. It is designed to keep those of us with MT's on the fence and it will never happen. It simply does not make logical sense to have an MT with Technology Package, as AT can be controlled, however MT's are not controlled.
