Towing and Trailer Hitches for the G

I have been looking into some hitch options for my 2013 G37xS. More times than not I have been wanting to haul bikes or my motorcycles and had to use my mothers car which as of late has become kind of a PITA to get ahold of and using i to drive to school and what not is kind of not an option.

Local guy uses a CURT hitch to tow his GSXR with his 03 Coupe. Said install was easy and since i is so low profile, you don't even know its there.

Found you can get the hitch for around $200-$240 so it is a pretty cost effective option vs buying a truck to haul my small trailer. I also have no room or need for a truck at this point in my life and the car is a lease and not a show car so looks and what not else aren't my priority.

Research has led to me o the Lexus guys who tow with their IS's and it seems like they love the CURT hitch.

Does anyone else have trailer hitches or what not on their Gs? For bike racks or what not? All I want to tow in my small open trailer and 1 or 2 motorcycles on it. Not exceeding the 1500lb towing capacity. Save the negative comments. Dont really care. I am making this bitch as practical as possible.

I'm with you - my 2011 G37x sedan is my do-all vehicle/beater- skiing, hiking, biking, etc., and a good portion of all that on snow-covered/dirt/gravel roads. I don't tow though I do have a 1.25" bumper receiver for my bike rack.

My recommendation is go to a custom hitch place. Many hitches like you've pictured have ugly parts that hang down below the bumper. Also, at least for the G sedan and relative to a lot of other hitches, there's a fair amount of work for the install, including trimming the plastic gas tank cover.

I'm interested to see what others have done. I do triathlons and would love to be able to attach my bike to the G and not take the QX or Q7.

I installed this hitch on my sedan:

Draw-Tite Trailer Hitch for Infiniti G37 2010 - 24831

I use it to haul my mountain bike. Install was not too difficult and it works really well. My only complaint is I bottomed out on the hitch sometimes, when I pulled out of the steep parking lot too quick (my car is not lowered). Overall not a big deal just gotta angle it and exit slow.
