Anyone taken their nose kit off before? 2010 OEM kit

Hi everyone,

So I bought a 2010 G37x S in Lakeshore Slate Blue or that dark gray-blue and mor recently another used G37x S an Anniversary Edition 2010 with the sporty kit on it.

I would like to take that kit off but I'm concerned about two things. Will it leave a shadow like a bra and will it leave holes after the tape is cleaned off?

The other 1/3 of the kit I would like off but don't really want it gone like the nose piece is the areo fin on the trunk, the spoiler. I thought the best way would be to buy a replacement trunk lid (already finished??) somewhere.

I'd like to change it to a regular Sport. Aren't the lower side molding also part of the kit?

Anyone taken their nose kit off before?

Why would you want to take it off? As for the front lip if it was installed by the factory it will probably have two holes underneath behind the lip used to attach it to the bumper. The spoiler might be the same.

Before doing anything you might want to see if there's someone w/ a Lakeshore Blue that might want to trade, but Lakeshore is a rare color so it might be tough, but worth a shot.
Like Vaio mentioned the lip (at least my oem 09 journey lip) has 5 underside holes drilled into the underside of the bumper where the slide clips go in and another 5 holes for the bolts to go through, this may or may not align w/ the sport lip, it probably would but it's a bit of a gamble. You won't see the holes from the front of the car but they'll be there Not sure what spoiler you have but most have at least a couple holes outside the oem chrome trim piece, so replacing it with another spoiler type won't work most likely, but you mentioned replacing the whole trunk lid so I guess you're already prepared for that.
If you end up removing the kit be sure to use a strong floss or fishing line to get under the tape and heat the area real well w/ a hair dryer to soften the glue tape. The plastic gouges and nicks real easy so just really take your time and use a lot of care. Probably won't have too much ghosting on the lighter blue unless your car is out in the sun daily, if so you should be able to restore most of the true color or at least get a good blend using Maquiars Ultimate compound lightly in the affected area followed by a wax.
Good luck, it's a shame you got the kit you didn't like, but you've got to end up w/ what makes you happy.

With an OEM installed front lip (which would have come with the anniversary edition), there will be two holes on the front side of the bumper wheel well. There's 2 screws that hold the top of the lip in place about 4 inches up from the bottom. Unless you plugged those holes you'd need a whole new front bumper if you wanted to take that front kit off. Unlike the underside bolt holes, these will be very visible.

Same with the rear there will be 2 holes outside the chrome piece and easiest bet is to swap trunks with someone. Unfortunately you'd need to find someone with a similar level of sunlight exposure or risk having it not match.

The side skirts are the same as the normal sport on the aero kit for the sedan, no need to swap those out.

No I like the kit but I would like it without it also. You see, it is the wheels I'm not wild about. I like the special color but maybe too many spokes. If I go to a sportier and less elegant Infiniti wheel it may make the kit look too racy. Racy is okay if it looks mature; to my personal taste. Overall it looks like they put thought into it. I'll probably leave it on.

This color is Graphite Shadow I think. Just to correct myself its the other G37 that is the Slate Blue ..not Lakeshore --oops.

Just exploring options. The kit is a fine balance I probably won't disturb.

Slate Blue (dark navy blue)
Graphite Shadow (anniversary edition)

are you talking about the 18" "duck feet" regular infiniti wheels?

If so you'd pretty much have my car (Pics below), IMO I don't think the aero kit looks ricey at all:

I get the biggest kick out of seeing other people call them duck feet.

I'm not in love with them, but they are made by Enkie, they're relatively light-weight, I keep them in pristine condition... so they're growing on me.

I don't mind the look of them nearly as much as I did when I first saw them. It would be nice to see someone try your photoshop mod though.

Looks great! I think I may do that. Is there a thread showing most of the OEM Infinity wheel options? Those which you would buy with the car. I have a personal preference with this car to stay with Infiniti branded wheels. Nismo looks nice but I want it to actually be racy then ..ricey/racy.

The regular wheels look good. At first, with all the complaints associated with initial reviews, these wheels that came with the Anniversary Edition were very unappealing and looked like they had one too many spokes but it actually blends well.

The kit I decided actually had some thought put into it but those wheels are a near miss for me. I'm unsure about them. I may go with the "duck-feets". Thank you for those pictures! Yours looks great. Mine needs some minor recon with sap etching the paint in a few spots.

The yellow sap stuff for some reason seems to get under the clear on the graphite shadow paint. Not sure why, I check my car everyday and use quick detailer to get it off as soon as possible. After it sits in the sun for a bit the stains seem to fade.

Here's the OEM options:

I agree on the IPL wheels looking the best

I've grown quite fond of my "duck feet" wheels...ever since I was lowered.

The IPL wheels look sooooooo sexy. A guy in my neighborhood owns a 2013 IPL with the darker gray color, and man does that car look beautiful. I'd have to agree with most people at first I wasn't a huge fan of these so called "duck feet" but now I am actually attracted to them, with a nice wash and some good tire shine gel it really brings out the shine in these wheels!

Lol I had to edit because instead of the D in duck I accidentally pressed F, I think you guys can get where I'm going with this
