Ouch, that is definitely more than just a fender bender man, the whole front half of the car is bent. Is there any structure damage?

Id say its done.
I had a lot of front end damage on my G35.
To replace all the front end it was almost $15K with labor.
Depending on the year it maybe time to look for a new car.

Yea, I know 1st hand.
Got rear ended by a hungover coworker, kept joking with her until I found out.
I had a spinal cord injury, 2 level c4,c5 disc ruptured.
Was out of work for 6 months & almost lost my house.
Insurance company was jerking me around(big surprise).
Until they busted out the surgical saws, it was a game to them.
Walked around in pain for 2 months til discovered by neurosurgeon.
Will keep you guys posted, he's a young guy.
Scary thing was only ds airbag went off, no side curtain?

You're wondering why the side airbag didn't go off? So, you think that in the case of a rear end / front end collision only, that the side airbags should have gone off too??.
Let's imagine an accident that starts with someone as the first to stop and wait at a red light or a train crossing. That car is violently hit from behind and pushed forward into the path of a train or other crossing traffic. At that instant, no airbags are deployed. Then, the car that was hit from behind, hits a light pole on the other side of the street, smashing the front, hard enough to deploy the front drivers side airbag (at the correct moment in time) but not the passengers side cause that seat is not occupied and the car is so "smart" it knows this. Then, a couple seconds later, the car is hit on the side by another car coming from the left, and then and only then, the side airbag deploys at the right moment, not earlier, because that would decrease the efficiency of the air bag as they deflate shortly after inflating by design.
I hope this helps you understand why the side airbags didn't go off, basically the car is "smart". Thank God the car is smart enough to work this way, the technology is certainly there, why wouldn't one use it?

He's a good friend of mine, not my son. That's kinda funny.
He is a close friend, not my son.
Using slang he's my boy(close friend)
Once I got blasted in my coupe, no airbags deployed.
Front end had over 15k in damage, wasnt to happy about that.
I'm quite versed in how airbags work, or in this case lack of.
The airbags job is to protect the driver, ive seen light hits engage side front & passenger passengers airbags even wothout passengers in the car.
Fact is he had a high speed contact with one airbag is still wierd.
He is a close friend, not my son.

In February my convertible was totaled. got hit by a minivan going about 60 from behind. My airbags didn't deploy... thought that was strange too. Walked away from it so I guess these cars do their job safety wise.
