Very good point. I especially feel sorry for coworkers or just friends, especially females wearing skirts, when they try so hard to stay decent trying to get out of the coupe.

This i can totally relate to. Now we've actually outgrown the G, it's still good for short trips, but the SUV does get more miles being the primary hauler now. I do love driving the G, so whenever possible, i try to make it a point to take that car. If i had a coupe, it would literally just be used for driving to/fro work. No way i'd spend as much as i have on the G just for work duty.

At the end of the day, it depends on the end-user and what's more practical for them. Sedan for me all the way. Or, anything with 4-doors, minimum, really.

I rather have a wagon/hatchback. But I understand this is not as popular in the U.S. market as it is in European markets.

Actually, i'd love a wagon or hatch. Been eyeing a Sportswagen and an R the past several months now.

well I'm young and single and always preferred sedans to coupes, especially "sport" versions of sedans (like the subtlety factor). Most of my friends/coworkers bust my chops about it, like I'm throwing my youth away by not getting a two door sports car I'm sooo misunderstood

When I get frustrated with the G's 7AT or need to haul something large, I hop in the Audi A3 sportwagon with DSG. Love it.

Now, educate us with your guess.

Don't mean to stir the pot, but a threads been posted on this. Infiniti says their average customer was 47, no kids. So you're both slightly off. But I'm not sure on the source credibility.

But there is a pretty nice list of owners/ages and I believe a lot are/were sedan owners if you two wanted a small sample.

The pot isn't stirred, and while that's an interesting thread, there's hardly anything conclusive about it, except that some site member claims Infiniti buyers have an average age of 47... over 6 years ago. So, whoopdeedoo.

I suppose if you factor in the SUV's, and the M37/M56, that's likely. But if you were to focus on their entry level model (the soon to be Q50), it's also likely the demographics are much different, and younger.

^ I agree, I'm not sure of the source, interesting though. But you make a great point about other models in the lineup. I always forget Infiniti offers more than just the G/Q.

By my limited world view, if someone under 50 is buying the M56, they've done quite well for themselves, financially speaking.

Perspective is everything. I'm a 2-kids, 2-cars, modest home kind of guy.

I guess the demographic can be anything:
- good ear for music, Audiophile, has McIntosh amp
- tag heuer watch
- 70 inch plasma tv

These aggregate consumer profiles can go on and on.

- I'm deaf in one ear, so couldn't care less about the stereo.
- I don't wear a watch, or carry a cell phone.
- We don't have cable/satellite TV. Rabbit ears.

...because sportscar. So much for profiling.

LOL
