The Q50 will still capture the bargain segment the G did. It still starts at $36-37k. (Yeah yeah, it comes with pleather, the Germans have been doing this for years and the normal joe blow won't be able to tell the difference if no one pointed it out to them). Nicely optioned with leather and Nav is $42k. Still a relatively good deal and this will be the majority of sales. There is def more options on the top end, so yes fully loaded models will be more expensive than a fully loaded G37.[/QUOTE]
Point well taken....a Q50 fully loaded will be far better optioned than a "loaded" G37...thus the added price.

Just by sheer looking at the numbers, it does sound like a lot, but considering Civic EX-L's top out at $26k + ttl these days, chalk it all up to inflation and having more equipment. I bought my Maxima a few years back for that price. My first Civic about a decade or so ago was only $16k!

It is very true that with higher costs and inflation, we tend to see pricing for new vehicles are going up. I think we all agree that the New Q50 is going to be a nice car to have and we would buy it if it is at good price.... that is the only argument we all have. We like the features and the value, just the price seems to be high.

50K price range opens up a lot more options, including really nice used cars!

Q50 1st impressions
Well guys, i got a first look at the new Q50 today, actually was at dealer in FLorida while the salesman were getting schooled on the new car. I have to say the new car is AMAZING. The new technology is crazy cool, the apps that are included with the dual touch screens were nice, there were deff some bugs being the car was HAND Built and was still a prototype but let me tell u this car is one HOT MACHINE. After listening to all the info I actually got to take the car out for a drive and open it up. Def faster and more responsive then the my 10G37 but then again it was a Q50S AWD. Price seems to be pretty similar to the current G's pricing but the Hybrid is deff over 50Gs but will be close 350-360hp. Heres so pics I snapped at the dealership, The reps from Infiniti stated the car should arrive late July, but we shall see what happens, but its truly a car worth waiting for.

The front end looks like its going to morph into a Transformer. A little too much going on there for me. It's not as bad as Acura's screw up of the TL a few years ago however.

Thanks for those pics. The real world pics definitely do it more justice than the press/autoshow photos.
I'm really interested to see it in black. Did this dealer have any information about the production schedule? As in, is it out yet for dealers to choose from?

certain aspects of the car are growing on me - like the interior. but NOT that 3.7 badge. me thinks the first DIY on the new Q50 forums will be "de-badge"-related.

Q50 looks better in person. Don't knock it til you see it. IMO the proportions look better than the G. Wider, and lower. Just looks proper. I dont know how to explain it you just need to see it. That front end isn't 'overdone' it is beautiful...
Hell, I even thought the new IS looked better in person.. still not beautiful, but not as bad as I thought.

Looking good!
On another note, not liking how the new IS is getting more attention than the Q50 right now. Definitely way more reviews for the IS and not too many on the Q50. Not sure if this is because Infiniti has yet to release the vehicle to get them reviewed.

This could turn out to be one of dumbest moves a car company has done in North America to get rid of the car that made the Infiniti brand successful over here. The new Infiniti CEO from Audi is taking a big risk. One I personally really can't stand. Oh we'll, I love Infiniti and my "G".
