I have been using these things for a very long time - dont put them near the upper portion of the dash - even then why do you want to see it? you want to smell it right -
so I place them under the dash for the lower portion of the vents ( aka feet) - you wont have this problem and it smells fantastic - some people say its like sitting in a dryer with downy sheets LMAO - ( which btw works as well ) put them under the seat...
All this talk about air freshers..... damn do I stink ? maybe its my feet that stink and I am just covering it all up - all men should have stinky feet...
ah crap.. nevermind

I use Zaino z9/z10 leather cleaner and conditioner and my car always smells like new leather. Best scent you can have in a car in my opinion.

I don't understand the need for these accessory air fresheners. How messed up are some folks cars, or what are they doing in their cars to necessitate an air freshener? Scary thoughts. It is not hard to keep a car clean and smelling OK with routine car detailing products.

Way back in high school some of my buddies had those hanging tree air scents, but that was to mask certain odours not uncommon on west coast Canada. I assume most folks driving g37s would have grown out of that phase...

I've used these for years and have never had an issue in my car.

Same thing happened to me in my previous car. It leaked and melted my dash pretty badly. Fortunately it was a lease and they did not charge me for the damage. Lesson learned though, I will never use those liquid air fresheners in my car again.

I use 303 as well, and i can say this is the best product I have ever used for plastic and rubber by far! But it is pricey at $30 a bottle.
