I went with 3m FX ST 20% all around and love it, don't have one complain after a year on the car and have had NO issues with the law.

I've heard some tints are pure black, some with greenish tint, bluish, purple...

I booked an appt to get the same 3M FX tint (25%), seems like it's a good way to go (any photos??)

went with 25% 3M f/x tint (dynamic tint in NJ did the install, great job)

normally I wouldn't go this dark, but the stone interior is light. Came out how I prefer, not too dark, not too light

No, 20% is perfect.
I almost did 35%, when the tinter placed a piece of the 35% it looked like why even bother.
Almost as bad as 50% looked like the windows were just dirty/hazed.

It depends on the interior/exterior colors, but in general, I think 20% is nice. I have 30% LLumar metallic and I wish I had gotten the 20%. Some days it's dark/smokey enough, but sometimes it still looks greenish when the sun hits the windshield just right.

If that's 35% tint, then I'm guessing my rear windows are 20%. Bought the car with the rear doors and back window already tinted in 3M tint, and I've always been kind of curious what the percentage was.

Somewhat concerned having heavy tint in New York, but it's just the rear doors, which give the G kind of a VIP look. I didn't think I'd like it at first, but I really do now.

^Not sure about your area, but I never had a problem with tinted windows on Long island or in the city.

Big time, just based on observation, I'd say a light interior makes a tint look 10-15% lighter VS. dark interior.

20% with a black interior would look too dark for my taste. Also, mismatched tint (or non tinted front) looks goofy to me, but I understand people do this if law enforcement is a big concern

I was predisposed to think that way, too, at first. And was planning on having the tint removed shortly after buying the car.

Good thing I didn't act on that, because I really like the way it looks now. Doesn't look goofy at all... to me.

+1 for 20% all around. 35 is too light IMO. 20% allows you to easily see out at night, provides enough privacy and protection from sun, and looks good.

I prefer even tint all the way around too, except for the front windshield of course. Yeah, 35% is a little on the light side. I have 30%, so it's a little darker, but even with black/black some days I wish I had gotten 20%. You can't really tell the difference between 20% and 30% from the inside anyway. Take a look through the moonroof. I think that's around 15% tint.

Yes and no. Tint over rear window defogger elements creates this weird visual artifact in the rear-view mirror. It's distracting.

That will be the case with any tint. The film isn't perfectly flat around the defroster lines, so it will bend/refract light. You really only notice it when you have headlights behind you. You'll see a vertical series of "mirrored" images of the light source. Honestly, you get used to it.
