Saw my first Q50 today

@bitNine The 7 at definately feels different and I would put it on par with the dual clutch in the audi for smoothness. You can also do full manual mode, it is sub 5 seconds, isnt fwd. The wood in this is much better than previous generations and the steer by wire is actually quite good, very responsive, good weight to it. I would take a look at it when you can.
It's not the quality of the wood I'm worried about, it's the fact that it's wood at all. I just don't care for the look, compared to the more modern look of the brushed aluminum like I have now. Wood makes me feel like I'm already in my 50's, lol. But then, the new truck has wood in it so we'll see if it grows on me.
So does the steering actually feed back to the steering wheel, and feel like it's physically connected to the wheels like a normal car? What about the ability to completely disable it?

not sure about being disabled yet, but you do get good feedback, it just takes anomallies out, but still keeps it very natural feeling. The wood in this one is nice, I side with you on the aluminum, but the issue is that the wood comes in a package that I would want so which way to go lol

There's this 4 block dirt road by my house that they oil on a regular basis, and at the transition to pavement, there's a stop light that I always turn left at. I love to turn off the traction control and gun it around that corner. Takes no effort to kick the back end out and sail through the corner because of all the oil on the pavement.

He knows how I drive. We originally went to the dealer to test out an older RSX Type S that my wife was looking to buy. He was happy as a clam while I tested its handling through a few clover leaf freeway onramps. I would never test drive a new car that way. But I'm not trading in the G37 for a Q50 anyway. The G37 will be traded in within a month for a new truck. Besides, the oil is so slippery it's akin to snow. Sort of a lame assumption that I'm somehow doing damage to the car for the next owner, just because I kick the back end out on an extremely slippery surface. A single track day would be far more detrimental.

If that person chose to learn the lesson hard way, so be it. But it's a gamble, he may win. For a powerful sporty car like the G37, I doubt one could resist the temptation of running it wild from time to time and break something in the process, so the odd is slim that anyone would actually baby it.
