Sounds like it, but I would not call it quirky just not perfect. I found it pretty responsive on spirited driving, up-shift quickly, a bit delay in down-shifting.

Streamlining the lineup. Q## = sedans. QX## = SUVs.

How heavy though

Our car seems to be bing eating... it gained weight from the 35 to 37 because they made the interior nicer.... i see another 100 pounds of porkieness. Unless they start to use that g30t designation we are going in the wrong direction. Then there are the rumors of the new ipl being a 580hp twin turbo monster... good direction... the fact that its supposed to cost more than the GTR wrong direction again. You hear talk about competing with BMW line up. The 335 cost about the same as our car and a $600 tune puts you at about 400 rwhp. Granted there are fuel pump issues and the run flats are less than useless. They are setting up something that makes no sense. $34k 328i=twin turbo 2 litre. 42k 335i=300 hp twin turbo. 60k Next M3 twin turbo 6 making about 450hp. All bolt on friendly to make monsters. Now look at infiniti direction. All NA big v6. twin turbo is only way to get power and if you can install it yourself it cost about 8 to 14 grand. IPL vs M3. 60k twin turbo making 450 for M3 vs 580 twin turbo 100k plus. None of the models compete.. I dont get it.

Rumors. Rumors. Rumors. Car isn't out yet. Speculating at this point is pointless.

42k for a 335i? Maybe if you want it bare bones. I have the 2011 LE with every-damn-thing and it was 39k. Similarly equipped 335i was a shade under 50k. Same with your 60k M3... base model with NO options. If I am buying a 'luxury sport' car... I want SOME luxury.

rumors

The next IPL is a rumor and i hope its true in every way but the price... make it 65k and have it compete against the cts-v. With CAFE and the trends of other cars we need fi. Dont pull up next to a ford st. you will get your feelings hurt. tunes are starting to come out for that that put you around 300 hp and 350 trq.

Technically, it supposed to cost as much as a C63 AMG in Japan, or about 10 million yen. That's $106k. In other words, about a $10k premium over the GT-R. And if it truly is the GT-R drivetrain in a Q50 body, then that would be quite the car.

With the same options as the 6MT, a 335i is about $9k more.

I don't really understand what you're getting at here. BMW has chosen to move to a forced induced engine (same with MB and Audi) due to EU regulations. Infiniti/Nissan has stuck with NA because they don't have as strict regulations in Japan. I just wish our engines would rev faster and higher. Something more akin to a RS5 or LFA. And everyone knows that IPL is the same as Audi's S-line. It's really all show no go for the price. IMO, they should have dropped the "S" from the sports packages and just sold them as IPL. Much like BMW's M-sport package. Infiniti doesn't have anything that truly competes with AMG, Quattro, or ///M at the time being. Hopefully that will change with the Q50.
