Sounds coming from my g

I've noticed there is a creaking sound coming from my center console and cup holder area when I am driving. Also if I start to wiggle the side of the cup holder u can hear it too any fix for this?

Also my power steering pump is pretty loud when I am at a stop and turning my steering wheel, is this common in Infiniti s?

Not common that I know of. Have you checked power steering fluid level?

Also - is the noise the same if you turn the wheel to the left as well as to the right?

There is a TSB ( ITB12035 ) related to a power steering pump noise, but for some reason, it only mentions turning the wheel to the left.

Good Luck...

Not normal for the power steering pump noise. Mine is silent even at the extreme end of its travel. If your fluid level was OK, you need to have the car checked up. You may want to check the belt tension as well, it may be the belt noise.

Check the seat belt mounts on the passenger side. It may be resting against the center console...try to move it either backwards or fowards.

The chrome trim near the shifter creaks on mine, you can push on it and hear it. It's worst when it's cold out. Windshield cowl and headliner are creaking now as well, quite disappointing when the car is barely a year old and my fiance's 2006 accord ex has less squeaks.

One of these days I'm going to tear it apart and felt tape it all and add some sound deadner to the doors to stop some of the vibrations there as well.

Agreed. The center console with chrome trim is the culprit for the creaking in my sedan. You can literally hear it rubbing together when its cold out and when you press it, you can pretty much recreate the noise.

I just had this issue resolved. I believe you will have to take it in 3 times for them to really fix it. I kept taking it in and they kept "resolving" it with felt tape. The third time they took apart the dash and the console and actually fixed it. It was the center console and something behind the air vents. Keep taking it back. It was time consuming but there was no way I was going to listen to it EVERYDAY.
