I just picked up an 09 G37s and I love it, the Drive is nice. One thing I noticed is that when coasting, or letting off the gas it down shifts pretty aggressive on its own to slow the car down, which idk if I like... and a question I had is that when I come to a stop and my car is in drive, the car pulls pretty hard still, like it wants to move forward even though I'm not pressing the gas. Not really hard, but a little harder than i experienced in another automatic car. is this normal?

I thought the same when I first got my car. But - as others have said, I got used to it and 'retrained' my right foot (I guess). These days...no issue driving it every day...I can putz around town at 35mph or accelerate w/everyone else in traffic...

My suggestion - give it time and it will become 'second nature' to you...

Are we talking about the 7at? I could understand if its a manual and first gear is a little jerky as you get used to the clutch but auto? Hell, even my wife can smoothly drive the G, and she's a girl. It must be an issue with the trans.

I recall many complained that the G37 had no torque, now this sounds like too much of it? Every U-haul I've driven were much more jumpy than my G37. Trucks are torque monsters, but run out of breath as fast as an old lady climbing stairs, and many likes that in a car.

Maybe if you're coming from an underpowered vehicle does it seem jumpy or over torqued.

Our 07 G35 was really a coffee slosher coming from a dead stop, had the throttle sensitivity TSB applied and it's about the same as our 09 is now. I would think it's just a different pedal feel or like mentioned, the previous car had less power. OP, w/ just a couple hundred miles w/ your new G you should get used to it. Took me a couple weeks w/ our hyper 07 before coffee stayed in the mug

Thanks for all the comments. I took it to the dealer today and explained the problem. Interestingly, the loaner car they gave me was identical to mine so I got a chance to see how another car drove for comparison. It was sensitive but not nearly as jumpy as my car.

The tech said that they checked the computer and it didn't have the latest software update for the TCU (transmission control unit), so they reflashed it with a newer version.

This seemed to help a lot, it still takes a light foot on the throttle but isn't nearly as jumpy as before - so this seems to be as good as it gets.

I just bought my first g37x, 2013. I noticed this too. I drove a hemi before and the pedal response and positioning is completely different. The top of the pedal is where the pressure should be applied firmly and steady. I'm still getting use to it...

I just returned my leased 2010 G37x and picked up a 2013 G37X. While I never had any concerns about the 2010, the 2013 seems less "jumpy" off the line and its auto transmission is significantly smoother. That said, even with the 2010, I've never had issues producing smooth acceleration from a stop.

Seems strange that this would be a problem on the seventh model year run of the same car.

This is interesting, you said you have a 2013 and your transmission software wasn't up to date? I thought all 2012+ were. I'm going to have to take mine in and get them to do the update as well if that's the case.

I'm thinking about the same thing. My '12 built in early 2011 does not have any AT related issues discussed, it was supposed to be as it should already have the latest software installed. I just don't understand how a '13 does not have the software a '12 already had years ago unless it was hardware related. A refurbed '09 rebadged as '13? I knew GameStop sold a boy a refurb 3DS with lots of *****, they obviously did not wipe it clean and reinstalled the latest 3DS firmware
