Bye bye sweet G37...

Helloooooo 335is!

As some of you already know, I found the car of my dreams, or close to it (an M3 competition package would have rounded that out). Found this 335is sales manager demo with 5000 miles on it which as you know gets titled as a brand new car with a new car warranty... for a steal. Got a great price and it had almost everything I wanted, including the interior color that is quite rare but beautiful.

The Q50 announcement pushed me over the edge to finally leave Infiniti which I still have a great love for. The fact is though that the omission of a new drive train just eliminated it from the running for a replacement to my current G as I don't want to pay more for mostly cosmetic and creature comfort upgrades. In fact, the 335is is a step down in some ways from my 2010 G, but not where it matters to me.

As a result of this purchase I'm going to be selling off some tasty G parts. Letting yall know in case someone wants dibs. I haven't figured pricing yet so this is just in case there's strong interest from a fellow board member. Will also be putting these up for local sale:
  • Coupe wheels and Michelin PSS tires with 2500 miles
  • GTSpec FSTB, with brackets powedercoated red -- PENDING SALE --
  • Eibach sways front and rear
  • Takeda CAI, painted satin black. - - SOLD! - -
  • Racingbrake two-piece front rotors, less than 1000 miles. --SOLD! - -
  • Racingbrake ET500 pads (full set), less than 1000 miles - - SOLD! - -
  • Racingbrake ET800 pads (full set), 3000 miles plus a trackday (they look near new)
  • Z1 Premium SS brake lines FOR SPORT MODEL
  • Oil cooler kit - 34 row setrab, mocal thermo sandwich plate using OEM oil filter style, and -10 lines!

Future mods for the Bimmer: improved water and oil cooling capacity, brake work, and maybe an LSD swap using a junkyard pumpkin. No plans for power adders until I've done that stuff as I want to be able to confidently track her- real performance!

Anyhoot, on to the pics of the new ride!

Will look into shipping on the sways but keep in mind it's a long awkward box so it might get pricey. Will pm you when I find out!

Thanks for the nice comments and your friendship on this forum, guys!

Is it me or BMWs interior looks like crap? I'm talking about the shape and placement of buttons, vents, steering wheel and its buttons, the whole bit...

It's not just you. Many people think that. It doesn't bother me at all though. Again, I'm more of a driving experience buyer than a comfort and convenience one.

How much for the leaves in the back corners of the engine compartment?

Best of luck with the new 3 - love the color combination.

If you are shipping, I'd be interested in the FSTB to 76092.

PM when ready....thanks and enjoy the new ride!

Malbec- noted!

Rks- as I said in my post, neither until I get the cooling, brakes, and traction up to par. Power isn't the limiting factor, particularly for track fun.

Your G looks so much better in comparison. I would definitely keep it if I had to have the BMW.

That's the beauty of choice! The E9x platform is to me one of the most beautiful shapes ever made. I actually really dislike the direction of the new generation 3 and 4 series in comparison.

Agreed - the E92 has a very elegant exterior design. I'm also not a fan of the new 3 and 4 series. The front is particularly horrible on these.

The interior, however, killed the E92 for me. Also, I was too afraid of reliability problems with the N54 engine in the 335is. The N55 in the 335i seems fine, but you don't get the DCT in the 335i, and BMW manual transmission is ok but not great. I was also looking at the M3, but the interior quality level was simply not acceptable to me for the price.
