Are you sticking with Infiniti if the Q50 doesn't impress?

While a few are smaller, and the setups are a little differentiated, I think the Germans are going to offer WAY too compelling an option for me to consider another Infiniti, for the next purchase.
Between the CLA AMG, the S3, or the 235M - all three of those options are going to be extremely close in price, to a loaded Q50. Again, each is a little smaller than the Nissan, but still close enough, in my book, if I'm mostly looking for a very sporty sedan or coupe.
Then again, the upcoming Mustang may finally get me back into a Ford. So who knows...
But the point being, as much as I love everything else about our G37 (with the exception of the horrible 7AT and too-little low end TQ) I find nothing compelling about the dressed for show Q50. The most important aspects (engine and transmission) are unchanged, and the steering has become noticeably less engaging - a strong suite of the G37.

For me I will probably keep my G until the wheels fall off, but after I pay it down considerably I will more than likely look into a Lexus GS350 F-Sport. The G will probably be my weekend car after I mod it to the way I want it to be and then the GS will just stay stock. I've got plenty of time to change my mind between now and then so who knows what will happen. To me the Q50 seems like it was rushed into production, in the few loaners I've driven there were a good amount of small problems that could have been fixed during R&D.

You know, as much as I have loved the Datsun/Nissan/Infiniti brand I think you made a very good decision there.
I have already moved on but I am still hopeful. I will be keeping my eye on the upcoming Z's as well as the IPL's when they come out. If something peaks my interest I will jump on it as I always do.

^My exact thoughts. I love Infiniti, but I can't back their current lineup. I will take a detour, try something different, if I fall in love with another brand then so be it. But I'll keep my eye on Infiniti and maybe some day I will come back... But I can't knowingly spend thousands on a car that isn't that good and does nothing for me just because it is somewhat what I am used to.

This March it will be 4 years since I bought my 2010 G37 sedan. That is a lot longer then I usually keep a car.
I was waiting for the Q50 to come out, but when it did I was underwhelmed.
My next car will be something other then an Infiniti, probably an Audi, BMW or Mercedes.
I still have had no regrets about buying the G37 and may just hold on to it for another year or two. It still looks and rides like a new car.

Check out the test drive article about the Q50 in today's (Sunday) New York times. The writer mostly liked it, though he said that the enthusiast magazines didn't. He said that it almost drives itself. You can read it on the NY Times website. I'll stick with my 2011 G37 sedan, though. I don't want to spend close to $50,000 to add gadgets that I don't need or want.
