Are you sticking with Infiniti if the Q50 doesn't impress?

Today's 335i and the G37 (RDW/Sport) are about as close to one another in their class as two different cars can be, even though they take a different approach getting there. It's pretty funny whenever I read people talking about "closing the gap" blah blah blah.
If by "gap", you mean the narrowest possible gap there is... um, OK. There's a gap.

Yea, 3 series have always been a step ahead of the g in terms of power. Only reason the g35 had it on the 330 is because that body and power plant of the 330 had been out for at least 4 years. 335 came along and it was game over for the g35 and g37... Our cars are very reliable and i think the best bang for your buck when comparing to the 3. But as far as performance, BMW has it. Infiniti definitely has to close that gap and this is their chance. We'll see as like all of you I am anxious to see what kind of power plant the next g is coming with.
You made the right decision going with the G37, but apparently for wrong reasons.

The performance gap between the E90 335 and G37 is marginal if any. Don't forget the F30 335 has worse dynamic than E90 it replaces, even G25 beats F30 328 in dynamic/handling department, and F30 335 is worse than F30 328. F30 335 may not keep the edge if anyone bothered to do another comparo. And...even this controversial disadvantage only exists against the top of the line 3, the E90 335. The G37 beats the rest of the 3 line up as we knew it was no contest.

Their new Optima has some excellent design elements to it... shockingly good, considering the history and the price point. It still turns my head every time I see one. If they could just improve its sloppy handling, and give it some grunt that isn't all turbo, they could attract a whole population of people willing to go down-market.

I would wait till the problems on the bimmer come back.. quick review. The last 335 (07-2011) was crap... it has a really strong motor and a pretty decent trans but the fuel system was horrible and would leave you stranded on the side of the road with fuel pump issues. The i drive had alot of problems. Fuel injectors would fail. I would also like to point out that you have to get run flats with it. (no option to not) They cost $500 minimum to get new (no repair option) not to mention no shops stock them and thats if the shop can even mount them (requires special equipment) How many car makers do you know of that completly remake a car after 4 years with no mid life refresh. I know.. I love the way the 07-11 looked and did a stupid amount of research before i decided to stick with infiniti and buy my 2011 g37 sedan 6mt. Best of luck to you.

335i is a much better built machinery with great tuning potential. Hands down better performance and handling than the G. Plus its "german enginering ". Honestly if I could redo everything I would take a 335i over my coupe. And who doesn't love halos !

G vs 3 is so 2007.
Can we get back on topic?
If the Q50 doesn't impress me I would not stick with it but I would consider another Q** if I was impressed by it?
I can see, already, that calling every Infiniti a Q is going to be very annoying.

Back on topic; if the Q50 doesnt impress, I will most probably go for the ATS (hopefully GM rebates will make the deals sweeter). The 3 series costs more than I can afford. Not a fan of the IS. I don't like FWD so that rules out Acura (SH AWD is too FWDish for me).
