Checking what map version I have in my 2010 G37x

What menu buttons do I go through to check which map version I have for my navigation system? When I got the car a month ago, part of the deal was that they update the maps for free. When I typed a few places to go, it wouldn't find anything near my current location at all so it makes me wonder if it's still old maps.

I believe that if you go into the info menu and then got into GPS or Navigation it should tell you. At least that's how it is in my '09.

Something I have noticed about finding a place near current location;
If you type a specific name of something (search by name) it sorts by name first, rather than sorting by distance. Tap the sort button and then tap distance and it will resort the query showing nearest first.
Example - When I search for Staples, it always finds some in Toronto area first followed by many others. When I tap sort and then tap distance, it quickly shows the nearest Staples to me.
I don't know if there is a way to default it to sort by distance over by name but there should be.

RUsum1, me too. I purchased the "upgrade" to my Navi system ($99), and uploaded my self. It took about 2 hours if i recall. Although I don't recall using the "find places" feature before I upgraded, but now recently tried that feature : Find gas stations for instance. It tells me that the feature doesn't work in the location. That goes for any look up - restaurants, etc.

I will call my dealer for an appointment and check up. I need a free oil & filter chnage anyway.

I'll give this a shot. I know I briefly went around some menu buttons before but it was only at a stop light so it wasn't for very long.

I'll keep this in mind thank you

I updated my 2010's nav several months ago. There is thread in the electronics section that has a lot of info on it.

With that picture it shows that they did not update your maps for you. I would go back and let them know. Talk to your sales guy and have him sort it out, if he says they did it then take him to your car and show him that screen.

Could be this. https://www.myg37.com/forums/3535011-post7.html

I suspect there might be another update within a few months.

It may be worth it to call Navteq, which is who Infiniti dealers use to update their maps, and see when the new 2013 maps come out and then go to your dealership when they come out and complain until they install it.
