Does this cause excessive wear and tear?
I sort of feel bad for the G today...
It was an insanely busy today, and I probably did more errands than I have ever done in one day. I have some family in town, and was literally going from store to store to store. After that I then had to do a couple of my own errands...It was stop and go traffic with lots of stop lights from 10am to 6:30pm at night, with numerous stops.
I counted that I started the car 14 times today...I was just curious if that would cause excess wear and tear on the starter/car? I was thinking about leaving the car running for some of my 5-15 min stops, but ended up turning the car off.
I do realize cars are meant to be driven, but I feel like I put a weeks worth of errands/driving in 1 day, and all local city street driving with lots of traffic.

why cant people just enjoy their cars?
my 2011 has 41,000 miles and I have loved every mile.
I dont worry about engine wear, resale value, etc.
just drive the car and enjoy it

As others have said no no harm no foul. If I'm running errands in the winter I usually will leave my car on, provided I am spending less than 5 minutes where ever I'm going. Mainly during the winter though. It makes it easy when you can leave the car running Nd still lock the car with the buttons on the handle, otherwise I wouldn't leave my car on.
