Angry Car won't start! WTF!!!!

2010 G37x w/ 14,500 miles on it and it won't start. I don't think it's the battery, the NAV HVAC and everything else comes on the way they should and the lights aren't dim. I put my foot on the brake, push the button, it tries to start, and nothing. Does my car have 2 batteries(one for engine, one for electronics)? Super pissed! ave to run some errands and don't feel like waiting right now for Infiniti Roadside to come. Will call when I get back in 2 hours. Any ideas?

When I had my IS350, it was the battery that ended the car not starting. It might be the same issue?

If you can hear the starter cranking your motor then its either your fuel system or spark plugs

Everything Else In the car comes on so it's not the key fob. Can hear the the starter try, tries less with more attempts. Only after market things on my car are a car starter and my radar detector hard wired to my car(sunroof I believe).

STEAMROLL9,
you only have 14,000 miles on your car?! You don't drive it much, do you? How long had it been parked before this incident?

The second day after I picked up my 2010 G37, I couldn't start my car either. The same symptoms as you have described. I thought I didn't know how to drive the car, and went diligently through all manuals that I could find before I realized it might be the battery. I tried jump start my car with my roommate's car, but it didn't work for some reason(I still don't understand this now). Eventually, I called Infiniti Rodeside to come to jump start my new car. The guy said he saw a lot of it.

you know what? I played my new car for a long time the day before, the stereo system, the nav system, and all the settings. My car engine wasn't on, and the battery was drained considerably, given it wasn't full at all.

I would suggest you checking your battery. The electronics came up doesn't mean the battery has enough juice to crank your starter. You did mention you now hear less of the cranking.

hope it helps!
Alex

If you have an automatic, you may want to check and see if its in park. Anything else and it won't start.

Did you try placing the smart key into the port?

Did you try the second smart key?

Did you check/replace the smart key batteries?

With a battery hydrometer you can check whether the cells in your battery are at a full charge

Same thing happened to me after I detailed my car for a few hours. I left the car on but the engine was off, gotta have some music. My car wouldn't start but after trying a few tines I unplugged my radar detector turned the radio off and the air conditioner off and it started up, albeit with a little bit of a struggle. Give it a shot. Worst that can happen is it won't start, which it's not doing already.

Sounds like you have a dead battery. Since the car is realtively new, a single cell in a battery can fail and not give the typical bad battery symptoms. Starting demands the higest load on your battery. It is possible for your batter to create enough current to run the car computer, nav, headlights, etc but not have enough cranking amps to turn over the engine.

Charge it and get a load test at your local auto parts store. If you don't have a battery charger, jump the car and drive it for awhile.

G's have more electronics than the average car and that drains the battery. I went away for a few months leaving my car on a trickle charger and when I returned the battery was dead. The Infiniti road service guy who started my car told me that and said that trickle charges don't work on Infinitis. Since you don't drive your car that much, your battery probably needs a charge.

You have an all electric version of the G-37, the G-37EL. There is no gasoline engine. Instead you have numerous batteries. One for the clock, others for the trunk light, radio, heater fan, power roof........

Seriously, you have a bum 12-volt under the hood. Just because the electronics work, doesn't mean there is anywhere near enough juice in the box to turn over the engine. See if you have any prorated warranty left on the battery, and just replace it.
