help 9 mpg

need help bad. i got a 2011 g37s 7at rwd all stock with stock 18" wheels. i am getting 9mpg 100% city driving. i have changed oil/filter and air filters. i have also run seafoam thru the intake manifold and fuel tank. i always put 92 octane from shell. i know that this car isnt that great on gas but seriously 9 mpg is ridiculous and i dont drive like a old man but i dont floor it everywhere i go i generally keep the rpms under 3000rpm while normal driving.
the computer is telling me im getting 14mpg but thru my own calculations im getting 9 mpg 150 miles to a tank before light comes on
i dont want this to turn into a mpg feedback thread. please help on what should i do. should i go to the dealership and complain?
(a couple months ago the dealership did update the ecm and i noticed after that it has been getting lil less fuel economy)

no difference with other gas stations. i talked to the dealership they said there gonna have to keep my car for a week and there manager is gonna drive it around and see how much gas gets wasted.
im not too happy with someone else driving my car. i baby my car.

I'll just say this once since I bet it's a point of contention for some - you really shouldn't use 87 octane for extended periods of time. Yes, the ECU is calibrated to retard timing to reduce knocking damage to the motor, but that means your fuel burn isn't as efficient as it should be. This can extend wear on the catalytic converters, and increase soot if burn is really not optimal. The retard function is meant to reduce the possibility of short-term damage, but it doesn't address long-term effects.

Make perfect sense as I am getting 27.5 mpg on the highway in my x. But I found the computer mpg is generally 1-2 mpg higher than the actual calculated consumption.

If your car is new and still in the break in period, the number will raise a little after it's broken in. to around 14-15mpg.
that's what i'm getting now for nyc traffic.
a normal tank lasts 250 miles for me.
and it gets lower if you live in the colder city.

I have a 2012 G37S with 833 miles, according to the mileage gauge, I'm getting about 17.4mpg but I haven't calculated myself yet. I suspect I would get 1-2mpg higher since the car doesn't seem to take into account the 1-2 gallons in reserve when it calculates range and mpg.
The gauge read about 9 mpg when it was under 300 miles and around 500 miles, it was at 13mpg.
