Hey guys, anybody consider that Infiniti may not have giving up on the 6mt completely they know they still have a small segment of buyers and they also know that the competition aka BMW offer a manual in all models.
So they may bring it back with a Q50 IPL model the question is are you willing to pay a 5k-10k premium that they will tack on??? All hope isn't lost they just may make us pay for it

Infiniti made a big mistake leaving the 6MT out at launch. They've literally handed this market (regardless how small, it does carry weight for the perceived performance intent) to the German's. I'm one of them. My 335is just finished production and will be here in 2-3 weeks. Prior to the Q50 launch, I was going to extend my April 2013 lease end on my G37S for a Q50 6MT this summer, happily paying close to MSRP to be one of the first. Once I heard there was going to be no 6MT, I was in Audi and BMW dealers within a day or 2.
For those of you who've considered 335i or 335is coupes, the lease deals right now are quite compelling due to the end of model run status.

Pretty soon it will be just BMW and Porsche... All indications are that this is the last generation of the Audi S4/S5 6MT. Audi already announced that they will not develop any new RS cars with manual transmission, and they dropped the 6MT version of the S cars outside North America this year.

I wouldn't have come to the G if Nissan kept an MT in the Maxima. If Infiniti doesn't come up with an MT for the Q50 by the time I'm ready to replace my '09 6mt(which might take a while cause this car has been bulletproof and I'm extremely satisfied with it) then I'll get something else with a manual. It's pretty simple and I'm not losing any sleep about it.

True, perhaps they will offer a 6MT in their IPL line but at a 5-10K premium where is the value over a 335i or S4? At that money, I'll take the S4 or 335i.

The Infiniti Q50 is the first Infiniti to benefit from the brand's collaboration agreement with Daimler AG. The 2.2-litre direct-injection four-cylinder turbo-diesel engine has been modified by the Infiniti engineering teams to ensure engine response is in line with Infiniti's emphasis on performance. The engine offers power and torque whilst retaining a low CO2 output (under 115g/km) which positions the Q50 at the center of the premium saloon market in Europe - as well as guaranteeing the dynamic drive Infiniti owners expect. Like the engine, both available transmissions - a 6-speed manual and 7-speed automatic - have been tailored to Infiniti's specific requirements.
