There have been many similar posts here and on g35driver.
We know new engines are coming. The average (majority) consumer doesn't know or care what engine was in the first two generations and that it's carried over to the third generation.
Infiniti will sell a large number of these simply due to the redesigned exterior and the ridiculous (IMO) amount of tech on the interior.
The average consumer doesn't buy a hybrid for the extra price. The big question is WHEN are these NEW engines coming. Once again it's speculation and based upon interpretation of what has been said by Infiniti. Many people were expecting a new engine for the sedan/coupe.

I don't get why it is ridiculous to be disappointed. Yes, the VQ37 is great and has been. But it is falling behind.

So when are the new engines coming?

Any chance you took more of your own Ext/Int pics, and want to have your own thread showing them off?
I'll make one and link it in here.

Actually that's Sebastian Buemi, not Vettel in the video. Just in the interest of correctness.

Interesting to note that the new AT has no torque converter but a direct drvie system. This could be fun.

Well said, BB. For once i'm glad Infiniti isn't listening to everyone. If they did, we'd end up with a real-world version of "The Homer."

For those commenting on the powertrain, they already said they'd have more options available.

Also, keep in mind, this has always been Nissan's thing... offer the same powertrain when able, then bump it up during the refresh.

I agree that the avg person won't pay extra and buy the H engine but they don't have to.
members on these forums may have speculated a new engine from reading a few automotive articles but again, most people buying a car like this don't have a clue about the finer details of the engine.
I never said it is ridiculous to be disappointed
The new engines are coming...later

I dont care for being truncated Mike, I'm not "that way'. If it happens again you may find yourself banned.

All we need is a forced induction 6-cylinder and 6MT to make this car fun (assuming they didn't hurt the steering too much with their new system). I hope they're testing that in their labs as we speak!

A couple things stand out to me in that video.
- @1:28 it looks mean with that low stance (which I realize is not how it is) and some will modify similar to that.
- @1:38 ..."The Q50 is just a hint of what's to come", with a cheeky grin on his face.

I wondered, no tourqe converter and with the hybrid system in place means less powertrain loss right?

Instant torque. Dare I say, this may be the new direction and may eventually overtake forced induction in factory cars. Yes. I dare say it!
