Most manual transmissions are slower than AT versions anyway, even without the dual-clutch tech. That's not the point, and not why people buy MT cars.

I hope Infiniti changes the perception of the hybrid. It just makes me wonder when I hear Infiniti say they are not looking forward to next year but to 2025.
I'm not complaining by any means I like the car a lot I just wouldn't by the hybrid version based on what I have researched. I would stick to the non hybrid motor. I was just looking for some insight as to why make the switch.
I think Infiniti is looking forward to the future, like 10-15 years instead of 1-5 years. Which is a good and bad thing.

Agreed. In fact, I think using the word "Hybrid" is a mistake. They need to come up with another label that doesn't have all the baggage that Hybrid has.
Augmented, maybe. Or Torque-Assisted.
OK, those are dumb, But anything else, really.

Check out the Infiniti website for he Q50 and watch the 4th and 5th segments of the video under the "Agile Performance" tab for some better explanation of how it works.

What a hybrid car is and what is does and how it does it is in a constant state of change gentlemen. Welcome to the 21st century.
It used to be a way to make a car under perform, accelerate slowly, and use less gas because you had to plug it up all night to go a few miles. It is morphing into a means to take a smaller more efficient gasoline engine, and multiply its performance in the most important two ways - performance and efficiency - to give more performance and response while using less gas. Using braking or the gas engine to completely recharge the battery in just a few minutes or miles without ever plugging it in. This iteration of the hybrid is still fairly new technology but it's certainly growing and getting better exponentially all the time. I go back to the 918 as a game changer. Of course that is an application of it in a $900K unobtainable halo car. But that's why those cars exist - to tease us as to what is coming down the pipe soon for our $40K sport sedan. Then to the $15K econobox.

I think the HYBRID car is just that a, HYBRID of 2 or more technologies used. Its just that the word HYBRID has been associated with MPG this and MPG that people forget what it truly means.
Look at the LIGER, I want a freaking LIGER.
