Ha ha, no. That is so wrong. Any time you improve the handling characteristics of a car, you appreciate those changes 24/7, whether you're on the track or just driving to work. But you did say "in my opinion", so there's that.
No, but some CO's are more susceptible to the effects of road salt than others. If you're serious about getting coilovers, research that consideration... along with how long you can expect them to last before a rebuild or replacement.

That is something I actually really do need to take into consideration.

This is what i have done to my 2010 g37xi wanted the g37xs but hated the sport seats and also wanet the wood)
1: paddle shifters(a must!!!!!! Lots of fun)
2: illuminated kick plates
3: interior illumination package
4: g37s rims
5:Rear spoiler
These are in no real order except #1 which is very awesome and #5 which totally makes the look of the car
I didnt want to stiffen my ride so nothing has been done to the suspension but i am looking into the intake
