Sold the G....
Well guys, decided to sell the G and get something more refined and faster. Don't get me wrong G37 was a really good car but I was slightly disappointed with few things. I'll list some of them out.
1- Rotors warped in first few thousand miles. dealer refused to replace the rotors. They resurfaced the front ones first and then when I complained again, they resurfaced the rears. Brake judder was still there. Funny thing is that when I advised that on my old BMW, I never had this issues at 80K miles, all he could come up with was that it's no BMW.
2- Rattle on passenger door since day one. Had to take it back 3 times for them to finally fix the issue.
3- Rattle on rear parcel. fixed by adding foam.
4- windshield rattling when it's cold. Never fully resolved.
5- Transmission delay and jerkiness- Never fully resolved. I drove my friends 8 speed A4 and I was truly impressed with how good that transmission was. All the service tech could come up with was that since there's so many gears, gear hunting is bound to happen. BS, again when I mentioned Audi's tranny, i get the same response, it's no Audi. NICE, here I thought I bought a premium brand car.
6- There was a squeaky rattle around the gear shifter that was never resolved. This squeaky noise drove me nuts, it was also embarrassing having people in the car because that squeaky rattle was LOUD.
All of this on a 2010 with 25k miles.
Well, long story short, decided to replace it with a 2013 S4.
Here's the G37.

This might be just your bad luck with the car and your dealer who even said that to you is beyond me. The G is no lesser car than BMW 3 or Audi 4, only better IMO. The G is the top sporty sedan for a long time for good reasons, reliability is one of them. Good luck with your new ride, it is a nice looking car nonetheless.

Anyways, have fun with new Audi

G37 is definitely a lot of car for the money, truth is you get what you pay for. Putting the power aside on the A4, A4 is definitely the better car. Much better build, higher quality materials.
As far as the dealer goes, this was 2 different dealers saying pretty much the same thing. Funny thing is sales dept says there's nothing better than Infiniti. Service dept says it's no BMW or Audi. Funny how that works.

Dont' want to turn this into another "the G is a better car than a BMW or Audi", as there are lots of people who feel this way here. But congrats, definitely a huge upgrade. And I agree, the Audi is a better built car. The G has the value and perhaps better reliability (depends how you look at it). But like the 2 dealers said themselves, it's no BMW or Audi.

Agreed, let's not to turn this into another debate. Yes, BMW or Audi is no Infiniti.

Love the current S4s no need for the old V8 when the current S4 V6 puts out plenty of useable power, much better mpg, and just an overall great looking package. Audi makes the nicest interiors w/ premium materials and thir designs always hold up well over time, often understated but always a classy look.
Hopefully your long term reliability will be just fine, that's the only qualm I have about German makes, awesome cars when all is well but big ticket items tend to rear their ugly heads when the warranty expires, at least that's been my experience w/ 2 past BMWs. At any rate, very nice ride you picked up for sure! I'd love to pick up one of the new RS5s a few years down the road when it would eventually be in my price point (or a GTR )

The Audi is a beautiful car. Use it in good health. S4, F80 M3, A/CTS-V, C63 or F10 550i Msport are on my short list for my next car. I really like the MMC updates for the '13s.
