OEM Daytime LED Copy (Updated pics)

I was looking at buying the oem Daytime running lights for my G but couldnt bring my self to pay the $600+ tag for 6 small leds. I was working on putting some audi leds in my headlight but put that project on hold. I saw someone using some 3W highpower leds on another forum and liked how they looked. The only thing I didnt like was they looked attached to the bumper. So I decided to try doing the same thing but replicating the OEM lights using the leds and a housing I printed out on a prototype machine. I found some lower profile leds on ebay and I am Waiting on the daytime auto on/off harness from ebay before I install them on the car.

Setup of another member (liked the output but not the mounting)

looks just like OEM, and you can't beat $50. That's even cheaper than some of the ugly aftermarket LED DRL kits that try to mimic the Merc E-Class lights.

Nice work, This is exactly what I was thinking of doing, but don't have access to the awesome prototyper you have. When you get a final version, any chance you'd sell a few?

I really want to see your headlight project turn out as well.

Sign me up for a pair of them as well if you would ever think of selling a few sets! Nice...

You and that prototype machine! LOL. I was looking forward to seeing how the "in-headlight" DRLs came out, but I think these look much cleaner.

Nice!

Once you get the design perfected, you should sell these DRL kits for the sport and non-sport front bumpers.
