Now you have me wondering what mine looks like. I saw it this weekend and it certainly didn't look as tight as yours does. And I'm positive mine doesn't have an "opening" at the top...it's just a net to separate a little area from the rest of the trunk.
Maybe you have the wrong net?

Your net looks right. They are pretty tight when brand new. I kept mine from when I had my 07G35X. It's not as tight as it used to be.
It rained yesterday so don't be hard on me for the dust spots. She'll be shined up before the day is out. Looks like a little bird got her this morning too.

K. So I was positive that I didn't have the "pocket" in mine...but I didn't notice it until I actually went looking for it.
However, my net isn't set up quite like you two are. It literally separates 6" from the trunk opening from the rest of the trunk...it's not strung up right against the opening like yours. Also...mine appears to be WAY more loose than both of those.
Idk.

My 2011 goes clear across. I took the damn thing out because it was so annoying. The "holes" in the netting are way too large and things were constantly getting tangled in there.

Design of the net on my old '06 350zr was different - and better. It was flat on the trunk floor - basically keeping things from rolling around back there...
