2009 g37x sedan - need help

Hi,

when I am on the highway around 120km/h, car slowing down very slowly (keeping with traffic) while pressing the accelerator slightly, engine/car starts to vibrate (it's like "grrrrrrrrrrr") and can feel this inside the cabin and floor ...I have taken this to various Infinity dealers and they have not found any problems.

Any hints/suggestions ..please.. car feels solid when under 100km/h ..but not when over 100km/h...

Thanks

Hi,

Could somebody please explain what is happening when I am slowing down from high speeds with the accelerator slightly pressed? When the accelerator is not pressed the vibration is not as bad as when it slightly pressed while slowing down or trying to maintain a speed in between, let's say 100km/h to 110km/h/120km/h.

Really appreciate input.

Thanks

This is just a shot in the dark but are you running aftermarket wheels? If you are, this could be a hubcentric ring issue.

Also, why are you pressing the throttle while trying to slow down? This car's got enough horsepower and torque to already slowly decelerate, especially with the wicked overdrive ratio of your 7th gear.

Sorry to hear about this - intermittent vibration issues can be the most frustrating to track down.

Could be any number of things. There are a couple TSBs that relate to both transmission shudder and vehicle vibration at highway speeds. I don't know the rules here allow linking to external sites so you'll have to search yourself. Google for "G37 TSB"

ITB11-019 specifically addresses vehicle vibration.

Did the Infiniti technicians road test it and were they able to duplicate the issue? If it's something you can duplicate yourself, you might need to drive while the tech rides along, so you can point out the problem.

Thanks for the feedback ..finally got the tech at infinity to realize the vibration ...they replace the Front Propeller Shaft ...but the vibration has not gone..it is little bit less.

All I am doing is trying to maintain speed at 90kms/h, 100kms/h ... while slightly pressing the accelerator.

I am not pressing any throttle of doing anything "funny"...

Thanks
